Flying pork barrels but public services should still be on diet.

The Lockheed Martin Corp management team has to drop a "country club" mentality first. Most of senior executives are ex military high ranking officers with no business and engineering backgrounds

There are many production control tools available to reduce the cost while improving quality. They need to learn the success from Ford, Toyota and Honda. Good luck.

They changed the normal procurement process with the F35 by allowing Lockheed Martin to begin production before testing was complete, and now it's coming back to haunt them. This put the government on the hook to cover some expenses that should have been completely eaten by the aircraft designer prior to winning the contract. I'm usually all for new fighters, but this one is rapidly turning into the next F-20 Tigershark.

f35 project gives us no good news at all. they should have developped this from f22 by cutting the cost.

Quality issues? What a shame. Those workers need to think about the good of the nation and not just themselves. They also need to remember that every fighter pilot that risks their life to strap on (so to speak) that jet to defend their country needs to have confidence in their equipment. These pilots usually have families with young children and it will be a shame if they "buy the farm" because of poor quality equipment.

Other 5th gen fighters still got kinks that need to be worked out as well none of them are perfect not even the t-50 or j-20

Do countries really need these planes? It creates jobs, but couldn't other things be built by Americans for Americans with these billions of dollars?

That's a lot of $200 hammers and $50 staplers.

They don't make the F-35 out of hammers and staplers.

A $400 billion project?

That's a lot of $200 hammers and $50 staplers.
