A dirty scoundrel wants to deflect attention.

I love how ordering China to be subservient is 'pressing it to act responsibly' and China encouraging America's backup singers to sing their own songs on occasion is 'highlighting rifts'.

No, asking China to not arm Nazis and to not make outrageous claims on the South China Sea is pressing it to act responsible.

If Russia would end its invasion of Ukraine and China would stop threatening to invade Taiwan, the tension with the U.S. and all of the other peace loving nations would decrease dramatically.

Stop the hate !

As soon as China stops claiming the South China Sea and stops making waves with Taiwan. You don't see the US claiming the Gulf of Mexico.

For peace and stability, the US warmongering must stop.

You know that the US is furthest from peace loving.

Which other nations are you referring to?

You know that the US is furthest from peace loving.

Only 1000 troops in anything approaching a combat zone. How many has Russia lost today I wonder?

I'm sorry but surrender isn't on the table. Russian and Chinese warmongering must stop or we see how it plays out.

Whaaaa?

US warmongering?

Thats not what AP, CNN or JT submits as “news”.

and the generals are gathering in their masses as we speak.

invalid CSRF

For peace and stability, the US warmongering must stop.

Surely, you mean Russian warmongering must stop...

For peace and stability, the US warmongering must stop

lol zero chance of that happening, they won't even try to limit gun violence on their home soil

Another overtly anti-China biased article lol.

Modern Taiwan was founded by American stooge and close Green Gang Shanghai mafia associate Chiang Kai-shek, who despite being supplied by Washington with US fighter jets and other military hardware fled to Taiwan after getting his butt kicked by Mao in China... Taiwan became famous for having a number of actual mafia gangsters as high ranking politicians.

In other words no, not a legitimate democracy, but yes definitely a tool for US geopolitical interests.

and the generals are gathering in their masses as we speak.

What is that supposed to mean? There are no call-up notices going out in the US. In Russia on the other hand...

Modern Taiwan was founded by American stooge and close Green Gang Shanghai mafia associate Chiang Kai-shek

So then you won't object to it's current status as determined by America.

who despite being supplied by Washington with US fighter jets and other military hardware fled to Taiwan after getting his butt kicked by Mao in China...

I believe you will find that the Mandate of Heaven was actually the Mandate of Moscow.

Taiwan became famous for having a number of actual mafia gangsters as high ranking politicians.

The 50's called. They want their talking points back.

In other words no, not a legitimate democracy, but yes definitely a tool for US geopolitical interests.

Sorry, trying to guilt by past history doesn't have any impact on the quality of Taiwan's democracy today. Press Freedom Index for Taiwan is greater than Spain and Italy. And certainly higher than SK and Japan.

[ Reporters Without Borders is careful to note that the World Press Freedom Index (WPFI) only deals with press freedom and does not measure the quality of journalism in the countries it assesses, nor does it look at human rights violations in general.[2]

[ Around his table, guests strain to clink his glass and attempt to get close enough to his ear to verbalise their adoration.

The figure in question is the founder of one of Taiwan’s largest and most powerful gangs.

His birthday party guest-list illustrates what some perceive to be a rot at the core of Taiwanese free-society.

One which transparency advocates argue undermines the territory’s credibility as a lawful democracy - the questionable connections between gangsters and politicians. ]

It's the best measure of democracy we have, as we can see by China being correctly placed at rock bottom.

The figure in question is the founder of one of Taiwan’s largest and most powerful gangs.

Considering Xi is the leader of China's largest and most powerful gang, I don't think there is much room to talk.

Xinnie the Poo should keep quiet.

Nonsense. The US did not even use jet fighters themselves until the Korean War in 1950.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

...US fighter planes. Yes they were not jets, but they were the ones used by the US Air Force, so the fact stands that Chiang was a US proxy, and despite having far superior weaponry supplied by the US Chiang still got his butt kicked by Mao and had to run away to Taiwan, where he and his mafia cronies founded what we now know as Taiwan today.

As per usual certain people here unable to face up to the facts lol
