… while she once again firms up her imminent, national political aspirations.

Really? By now it should be crystal clear she is 100% "Olympics first", Tokyoites would come third or fourth place after sponsors and other "more important" people.

There's no difference between Tomin First and the LDP since they both push agendas centered around and benefitting only Tokyo anyway.

Opinion polls leaked to the Asahi Shimbun show Tomin First being destroyed by the LDP.

Komeito has a committed support base so can not win without Komeito I suppose.
