Crimea, noone really cared about them because there was a 'Common guys, America's first' wind on the air.
I think President Biden is fully aware that being a superpower always comes with lots and lots of responsibilities.
FizzBit
Used to be the G8, another kick in the teeth by the US, UK, EU who don’t mind waging war and killing civilians on other continents.
I’d recommend watching some recent live videos of Biden, I’m not sure he’s aware of anything.

Tough stance of the country which has a border with Russia and which don't , totally different.
Facing unlawful thugs owning final weapons next door should not be considered lightly when you only have a gun under strict legal control for the usage. Kishida looks different from Abe. hopefully

Olaf is super excited to see Kishida. You can just picture him saying “this guy” as he hears the fact Japan is paying Biden even more money to have American soldiers and their bases on Japanese soil!
Mr Kipling
The US (NATO) made it clear that they are not getting involved in the conflict... The sanctions are just a face saving measure for the domestic media.
Within 18 months the sanctions will be gone, the south from Crimea to Dombas will be Russian, European industry will run on Russian gas and Putin will still be in power.

Japan, as usual, is only concerned about its own interests, not those of humanity at large. Japan really should cut off all automobile exports, both new and used, to Russia. And cigarettes, too.

If ever a photo deserved a "caption this"?

Kishida did not immediately obey the implicit order to diplomatically boycott Beijing Winter Olympics.
He seems to have his own thoughts. hopefully

This G7 is just American head, all other members are vassals.
Similar to how Tokugawa is the shogun while holding hostage families from other clans.
I would say Japan needs to get away from it, but as long as Japan is led by LDP, there's no hope.

@Mr Kipling
I think this is too optimistic. With the current military cost Russia has incurred and considering the territory they’ve already taken, it’s doubtful they will settle for anything less than the Donbas, Mariupol, and enough of eastern Ukraine outside the Donbas to create essentially a hefty land bridge to Crimea.
Velius
Oops, you said already Crimea to Donbas, my mistake.

@kennyG
You are a right winger but you seem supportive of Kishida, that's weird indeed.
But it's good news if more people support Kishida & Hayashi, they are lesser evil than Abe.

Look this is more like a political members club. The intimate show of praise or approval a smug thumbs up, whilst Ukraine crumbles in to nothingness.

Japan will do anything America say. Not a wise decision.
Mark
China will NOT invade nor attack Taiwan, China risks to loose a lot. China will swallow Taiwan and bring it into it's folds without anyone even noticing buy investing and buying every thing Taiwan ownes.
kurisupisu
Kishida not wearing a mask again?
More double standards from the ones above!
kurisupisu
Somehow Kishida thinks that masking up is no longer necessary or he knows full well that Omicron is not a threat and if he knows that then why are the Covid restrictions in Japan necessary?

Is it any worse than Russia waging war in Ukraine and killing civilians there?
Peter14
Nope. The Government and people will not allow the CCP to ever control Taiwan. China should be used to that after over seventy years already. They can buy businesses in Taiwan but they cant take control of Taiwan from its people no matter how many businesses they own there.
Businesses do not get a vote in the elections, only the people do.
Peter14
Sanctions from the 2014 invasion of Crimea are still in pace eight years later and no plans for them to be stopped. The result of this invasion will see Russia isolated from the majority of nations, and sanctions remain in place until Russia withdraws all forces and control over Ukraine territory. Russia will end up isolated like North Korea and that has been ongoing for decades.

good to see them all looking so relaxed and happy, despite the weight of the world resting on their shoulders.... (^_-)

Putin has been saving up his petrodollars for many years, in order to wage a "lightning war" in Ukraine. He won't be able to fund a long war, while the countries supporting Ukraine can afford to keep it supplied with modern tech for as long as it takes.
Genius Putin badly miscalculated this time, and it may cost him his job.......unless Xi decides that supporting a fellow dictator is more important to him than keeping up good relations with his country's major trading partners.
FizzBit
You don’t know what this means.
Sh1mon M4sada
I don't think the EU president should be there. The EU is undemocratic, and operates a single market and therefore is detrimental to the goals of the G7 (being representative government).

Here's another photo of our leaders all smiling and having fun .
It's not appropriate and obviously not effective.
oldman_13
I'm afraid this reckless decision will backfire on Japan.
Already Russia has ended all talks with the disputed islands, and who knows if they will ever resume.
