Crisis brings out both the best and the worst sides of human beings. The three great northeast nations passed the test, and we are going to see great cooperation and great economic sphere in east asia, starting in northeast asia.

The first thing is to establish joint security network to make sure that the Olympics be successful one.

What is there to discuss except the Chinese flu arrived in Japan from China. China misinformed the world by holding back critical data until it had infected more than half the world. Time to pay restitution to the world is what should be the main discussion.

rgcivilian1, would you please let us know what exactly critical information that China is holding back, and what misinformation that China provided to you ?

By the time that China had 45 cases of coronavirus infection confirmed scientifically, China informed WHO and all nations on this planet, directly and indirectly. What is your govt doing when you have 45 cases confirmed ? Do you get informed ?

Akie, you are correct about that. By the first week of January, many labs in the world had samples, which require government negotiations, with an Australian lab finally identifying it as a coronavirus.

But I have two questions about this for anyone.

Would China have come forward around December 31 had the Chinese doctor (now dead) not raised the alarm on “Promed“ which is a global infectious disease bulletin board?

What did the Chinese government know between December 1st and the 31st, before the virus was made public on Promed?

FizzBit, first, let me know where did you get your information ? which govt ? second, China inform the world on January 3rd, 3 day difference from your information source. what did China know ? China was investigating the case, otherwise you and the world wouldn't know even by now.

three countries in their effort and agreed to hold a three-way meeting of health authorities at an early date.

Will China and Korea trust the number of cases that Japan told them?

sakurasuki, are you in the meeting ? Tell you the truth, they never asked.

Akie

which govt ?

Are you asking about the “government negotiations I mentioned?

China inform the world on January 3rd, 3 day difference from your information source.

Exactly what I said “by the first week of January”. What’s your problem?

Maybe it will be clear to everyone now. They are holding on to the Olympics because it represents hope, and cancelling it now will be a sign of giving up.

Err, how about how to stop the pandemic, or research on vaccines? Or are you going to spend the next few months b*tching about where it started while people are dying?

Credit must be given when due.

South Korea had one of the highest rates of coronavirus infection but has drastically reduced that for now. And without having to lock down any portion of the country.

The huge difference was in the efficient testing protocol that was developed in the wake of the MERS virus. South Korea has tested over 270,000 people, a rate of 5200 per million people. They have created innovative methods of testing and keeping track of those testing positive.

The U.S. by comparison has only tested over 11,000 people, a pathetic rate of 74 per million. Many Americans who have flu like symptoms are being turned away from getting tested, while multi-millionaire celebrities immediately get tested despite showing no symptoms at all.

The supreme irony, the country that gave us the movie "Parasite" could very well have been portraying American society.

How about your beloved Japan?

The supreme irony, the country that gave us the movie "Parasite" could very well have been portraying American society.

Or Japanese society.

"Motegi told the other ministers that Japan hopes to fully achieve the Tokyo Olympics and Paralympics "as a proof of human victory against the new coronavirus,""

I thought it was, you know, as the only people to suffer from atomic bombings, and as victims of the disasters in 2011, the "reconstruction/motenasu Olympics"!

Well this is good. Despite the problems that these countries I’ve been having with one another recently, I’m glad to see that they put aside all that, the band together to fight this coronavirus. With all this cooperation, it indeed give me even greater hope for the future.
