Reality check : japan did nothing serious and tend to put in the accident case every crime on stranger to not loose its advertising : most secure country in the world to travel.
So they delay the affair. Normally within the week, french cop would have been sent. We are 3 month later and still nothing was done.
We all suspect kidnapping or a sex crime.

It was widely reported when she went missing. What do you expect the media to do after that? Publish daily stories titled 'Yes, the French women is still missing. Police still have no idea what happened.'? Nothing has changed since the initial story, what's the point of continued coverage? If something is finally found, you can bet it will be in the news.

White women traveling alone are receiving unwanted attention occasionally in Japan, good to be vigilant anywhere if you are completely a stranger in that country.

yeah Let’s blame japan it’s their fault why the woman suddenly disappeared. Of course japan doesn’t want to cover this, any other. Any other country would do the same.

Good for her. It seems that the Japanese media for the most part haven't given this story much attention as, I would assume, they don't want the negative news getting out and ruining that stellar image Japan is riding.

Hi Sean
I don't know about that. I recall that the UK authorities were quite mum about the whole thing with Lindsay. It was her family, her father in particular, who kept up the heat on the Japanese government. If anything, from what my british friends who followed the case were telling me, the UK gov tried to pressure him to keep quiet to not offend the Japanese police and authorities. Blackman, I can't really remember the particulars of the case.

It isn't like the search has been called off, just maybe less manpower.

One human is a start. "Step by step one gets to Rome".
Personally I suspect she fell foul of the serial groper that the signs up there warn about.

They still haven't found any sign of her meaning that instead of just missing could she possibly have been kidnapped?
Shows you how much they care.

Aly
I'm sure any country would react the same, not just Japan. Rember the UK media’s reaction over the murders of Lucie Blackman and Lindsay Hawker?

What more does she expect them to do?

on the contrary, when a japanese national goes missing overseas, the japanese media and government go into a frenzy.

Yeah, and if it had been someone different, the search would be continuing. I fear that in 10 years we are going to see stories about the police handing out flyers asking for information about this missing woman!

Rather worrying that she has not been located at all. I fear a unhappy ending, but hope for the best.
