"Non-violence is not a garment to be put on and off at will. Its seat is in the heart, and it must be an inseparable part of our being. The day the power of love overrules the love of power, the world will know peace" - Mahatma Gandhi

A "pause" will only benefit Hamas. Hamas, like all radical islam, needs to be destroyed. So the IDF should not "pause". They should continue until Hamas is crushed to nothing but a rotten stain of history. - Japan Violet

Do you believe in the destruction of radical Judaism also? The likes of Otzma Yehudit who are the ideological descendants of the Kach party. A party defined as terrorists by Israel's own government and outlawed.

Their leader Itimar Ben-Gvir is infamous for hanging a picture of Baruch Goldstein in his house. The Jewish terrorist who massacred 29 people. He loves handing out assault rifles to Israel's illegal, extremist settlers in the West Bank. Presumably hoping to create another Goldstein. He's also the Minister of National Security.

There WAS a humanitarian pause on October 6. Gazans were allowed to work in Israel, made far more money than if they stayed in Gaza. Gazan children were treated at clinics and hospitals in Israel in areas close to the border.

You mean in the Israeli apartheid system where the cheap labour Arabs are let in to do the dirty work and at night sent back to the ghetto under guard and where everything in and out is controlled by Israel?

That great life and freedom.

You mean having to try and get permission to get their children treated in Israel because again Israel limits the equipment and what hospitals in Gaza can obtain?

Then, October 7. The workers had been used by Hamas to make maps and notes on the Israeli kibbutzim, detailing where security posts were and where children were being kept. These were very useful in the massacres and horror that were unleashed.

You mean where clearly marked and know UNRWA schools were and bombed by the IDF in 2009, 2014, 2015, 2023 and more?

So I am thinking that there will be a pause once Hamas is gone, and the terror infrastructure that they have built in and under Gaza has been destroyed.

You previously claimed you were not racist but posted

Palestinians as a people were just another random tribe of Arabs until the mid 20th century.

Then on an article about Canada and Japan you again had to attack Arabs in the ME with:

How much better for Japan to buy from a friendly nation, rather than the medieval head hackers in the Middle East!

clearly you have total disdain for Palestinians/Arabs in general!

This is clear by your comments here and on previous articles.

When America and its allies invaded Iraq and Afghanistan then thousands of innocent civilians died in the crossfire and there was never any talk of a ceasefire until their objectives were achieved.

Sounds like an argument not to do a ceasefire...

When NATO did the same in Libya to remove Gaddafi then no one called for ceasefire until their mission was achieved.

Yes, the UNSC would not approve if we didn't do the job right.

When any other country such as Israel try to remove terrorist groups like Hamas just to protect their own country, then the human rights activists, UN, G7 and others start to condemn their actions and call for ceasefire! They seem to have forgotten so quickly how Hamas captured, raped and killed innocent civilians on Israel’s soil a few weeks back!

The G7 did not call for a ceasefire. They called for pauses, so Israel can disregard that to its heart's content. If you don't like what the UN did, that's something you can take up with the UN, not the US.

One rule should apply for all… the hypocrisy should be stopped and the buck starts with The US and its immediate allies!

Would make sense to first decide whether countries get to prosecute their wars or not before implying the US shouldn't have prosecuted theirs.

Humanitarian pauses may be only slightly better nothing. But in a nutshell, G7 allows Israel to continue its military operations for "self defense", which could include wiping out Palestinian people from the territories. It is regrettable that G7 has failed to call for a cease fire and for dialogues to seek sustainable stability and peace.

Now the Israelis are in Gaza, a pause would help their image as it would make them appear concerned about humanitarian aid getting through to the suffering masses there. In any case, the Israelis are looking to occupy these areas now, no rush for them to leave until they believe they've got the job done in eliminating Hamas.

In a way, this would help the ravaged ordinary Palestinian population, who have been brutally repressed by Hamas for decades, which is kind of ironic from an Israeli perspective that they can help out their 'sworn enemy' the Palestinian settlers.

This fight's been going on for two thousand years, so there's little chance of it being resolved in a month or two.

All i will add is. Do not pay attention/believe/listen to every rhetoric you hear coming out from any country/government/officials. No intrinsic/altruistic/genuine beliefs/principles. Because, when its friend/allies, its ask/request, and i will add, politely. If its not friends/allies, its human right/violations/crime, war crime??. IE, 100% lacking in integrity.

The difference between the Israel/Hamas war and the US wars in Iraq and Afghanistan is that the civilians/refugees actually had places or countries they could escape to. Millions went to bordering countries.

In Gaza there is nowhere to run, and even when they run south as instructed they may still be bombed. It is hardly a similar situation.

Will such "tactical little pauses" be defined, fully agreed upon by both Hamas/Israel.

This has all the political equivocation, as G7 communiques/statements make, when in fact G7 members are unable to project or endorse a clearly defined position.

Japan stay out of this fight. Japan has nothing at stake. Japan has good relations with the Arab/Muslim world. Lets keep it that way. Moreover, Israel sold HI Tech weapons to China. Israel did care about what Japan said or Japan's interests. Japan should repay the favor.

I am sure Netanyahu doesn't cares your call !

No thanks, no ceasefire.

For a repressed population, a suspiciously large number of Gazans certainly seem overjoyed when Hamas scores what they consider a 'victory'. Dancing, singing, eagerly talking to their brothers while they are committing horrific crimes that are best left undescribed.

The noose is getting tighter on Hamas and their terror infrastructure. Israel is being deliberate and very careful. Dead civilians help Hamas, which is why Hamas uses them as propaganda tools and meat shields. Hopefully it will be over soon and a de-Hamasified Gaza can emerge and be prosperous.
