Wait to the winter come, they will throw Zelensky under the bus,it a different between helping an country and enabling a country, when leader's want others to make decisions, that they should make , Ukrainian problem made their plight worse

Great news! Let’s help Ukraine with the aid they need!

-3 ( +14 / -17 )

Here two paragraphs define US unwavering support for Ukraine, action not weasel words........

Biden is expected to soon announce the U.S. is purchasing NASAMS, a Norwegian-developed anti-aircraft system, to provide medium- to long-range defense, according to a person familiar with the matter, who spoke on the condition of anonymity. NASAMS is the same system used by the U.S. to protect the sensitive airspace around the White House and U.S. Capitol in Washington.

Additional aid includes more ammunition for Ukrainian artillery, as well as counter-battery radars, to support its efforts against the Russian assault in the Donbas, the person said. Biden is also announcing a $7.5 billion commitment to help Ukraine's government meet its expenses, as part of a drawdown of the $40 billion military and economic aid package he signed into law last month.

Then we come to Germany and Canada and the weasel words.......

German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, the summit host, said the G7 countries' policies on Ukraine are "very much aligned," and that they see the need to be both tough and cautious.

Scholz said after meeting with Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Monday that "we are taking tough decisions, that we are also cautious, that we will help ... Ukraine as much as possible but that we also avoid that there will be a big conflict between Russia and NATO."

In Germany case they are actually financing Putin carnage, a shopping center yesterday was the target of a missile strike.

Energy imports from Russia, Germany is continuing to purchase petroleum products that are actively allowing/aiding Putin to win this war.

It ,it did not help them in the East, you can throw money into this money pit,you will get the same results

-9 ( +6 / -15 )

It,you maybe think Ukraine, would stop letting their territory, ship Russian gas

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

again suporting of war, sending new guns etc no word about peace talk,no single mention about how about to take seat and talk about Minsk agreements again?

just open support for war.

one question for all of these smilling leaders on photo-how do you feel at evening before going to bed while your guns are killing also innocent civilians, incl kids?no issues at all right?

-2 ( +13 / -15 )

The new aid and efforts by the Group of Seven leaders to punish Moscow come as Zelenskyy has openly worried that the West has become fatigued by the cost of a war that is contributing to soaring energy costs and price hikes on essential goods around the globe.

To tackle public fatigue and rising discontent alongside price rises in the backyard, Kishida should reactivate idled nuclear power plants at home. Two positive outcomes will be attained. First, nuclear power can stabilize and decrease domestic energy prices. It's vital to survive this hot summer. Many food and commodities will follow energy prices.

Second, nuclear power can help cut prices of oil and natural gas in the global markets, hitting hard fuel exporters, namely the aggressor Russia. So this is a significant and very effective aid for Ukraine.

Aid is great but its not working, put you're collective heads together and figure out how to stop this madness

As we saw in this news-site yesterday, 97% of Japanese firms operating in Russia before the war are still operating in Russia now, all paying taxes to the Putin government. With Japan financially supporting Russia, isn't it time to kick Japan out of the G7?

-2 ( +10 / -12 )

Troops on the ground a UN peace keeper force made up of NATO members should do it. On the border of the Ukrainian and Russia. That’s what’s needed.

Living,I second the motion, you said what others need too understand, Zelensky got to much time ,trying to get other to do what he want do ,and he cannot do himself,I give you 1000 points

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

I would be inclined to allow the US to move in and intervene and end this militarily. Biden won’t do it. Scared of Russian nukes. Sanctions won’t work with a madman like Putin. Cut the head off the snake! Putin lives in a fantasy world where he still thinks Russia is relevant. There’s a reason most educated Russians leave the country for good.

-4 ( +6 / -10 )

the entire war is running f welfare handouts..

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Gaijan,we do not need nukes, when we got Russian money,US American can be spiteful people, when we want to be,but that not our nature

This whole war, the genocide, the atrocities, the rape, the indiscriminate bombing, civilians, families, men women children. the destruction, the leveling of towns and cities, villages, then the violent raping of women and children, unparalleled since the dark days of Nazi Germany and the Third Reich.

Precipitated in the name of one man, Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin.

Now, Boris Johnson mentioned the global community is becoming anesthetised to the slaughtering.

So pick a side, and stand up to Putin war crimes, send ground troops, whatever is necessary to end the carnage, and bring Putin regime to an end.

What are we as human beings if we stand back and appease all over again.

-2 ( +8 / -10 )

When Putin crossed in Ukraine, invaded, he knew exactly what he was doing, and the price in flesh and blood he was prepared to make the people of Ukraine pay.

It ,When have the Boris Johnson cared about dead people,he did not care ,when Putin was killing Russian dead in London

Great news! Let’s help Ukraine with the aid they need

You do realise they will have to pay it all back at one point, right?

Now:

Biden is also announcing a $7.5 billion commitment to help Ukraine's government meet its expenses, as part of a drawdown of the $40 billion military and economic aid package he signed into law last month.

That is on top of a side deal of unlimited $1.5 billion every month.

And that is only what the USA is providing.

But the Ukrainian forces keep losing ground, equipment and soldiers ( Ukraine admits Russia has taken over 10,000 POWs).

The only country that is benefiting from the war is the USA.

Like WW2 the USA is building a long term debt similar to the lend lease (those that don't know the UK was still paying the USA for WW2 until 2006)

The USA has made a business out of profiting from wars and this one is no different.

The longer it goes on the more the USA sells ( via loans ), the more Ukraine is in debt.

Rumours that Putin wants mineral resources in the south east regions are probably true, but if Ukraine does win the USA will own it all by default as a way to get its money back.

So you are going to get what you want more guns, more money and a lot more debt, so instead of Russia, the new boss is Ukraine will be the USA, and no democracy isn't needed, just look at the regimes the USA is friends with and has previously put in place Saudi Arabia and Pinochet come to mind)

6 ( +11 / -5 )

The only country that is benefiting from the war is the USA.

No, this benefits all democratic nations on the planet. We must band together, or die alone. Ukraine deserve everything we can give to them, just as any Democratic country attacked by their neighbours does.

-5 ( +7 / -12 )

Yep, the western leaders are rubbing their hands with glee thinking how much they can benefit from the continuing carnage.

The ‘support’ is never free but a chance to make money.

And nowhere in the article is there a word from Kishida. But he will have time to think about it on the way back to Japan how to involve Japan Inc in the rebuilding-he must be very excited…

1 ( +7 / -6 )

Yeah keep supplying weapons keep implementing useless sanctions because its worked out so far. The USA government live for wars.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Great news! Let’s help Ukraine with the aid they need!

meh..all talk, especially with Michel and Vindaloo there. These people have been trying to re-stoke the war in Northern Ireland since they were shunned by the British people. They have no appreciation for peace.

3 ( +4 / -1 )

No, this benefits all democratic nations on the planet. We must band together, or die alone. Ukraine deserve everything we can give to them, just as any Democratic country attacked by their neighbours does.

Please spare us the USA false junk.

Democracy, oohh please, the USA has supported as many if not more undemocratic coups than the USSR did, or is memory that short here.

Who are the USA allies in the middle East, democracies? Sure is Saudi Arabia is in some alternate universe!.

Iran is bad, but remember how it got the government it has, oh right a dictator put in place by the USA,

I love how Americans go on about democracy, but only when bit suits their interests and profits.

4 ( +10 / -6 )

Democracy, oohh please, the USA has supported as many if not more undemocratic coups than the USSR did, or is memory that short here.

Oh dear the fatalist pessimist doesn’t agree with me.

Based on the world response to the invasion of Ukraine, the Democratic world doesn’t agree with you. Don’t epcoect us to ouch up your pessimistic fatalism anytime too soon.

Oh dear the fatalist pessimist doesn’t agree with me.

> Based on the world response to the invasion of Ukraine, the Democratic world doesn’t agree with you. Don’t epcoect us to ouch up your pessimistic fatalism anytime too soon

Please the USA has been in a proxi wat in Yemen for years supplying non democratic Saudi Arabia with more and more highly deadly weapons, they have killed or seriously wounded over 10,000 children in Yemen, cause the deaths of over 150,000 civilians.

But the USA couldn't give a D...

Democracy! You mean DOLLARS!

That is the only D word the USA cares about

4 ( +9 / -5 )

You keep going on about America as if it has relevance. I ain’t America bruh. And the world is united against a Russia.

Your argument seems to be “let the Ukrainians die, because Yemen”. Yeah because that makes any sense.

-4 ( +7 / -11 )

You can like America or hate it or be neutral. I’m neutral but America is no Russia. The American armed forces don’t have a history of genocide or gang rape, except (gang rape) in a few rare cases. The US is definitely benefiting from this war nonetheless. The Chinese state is smarter than Russia. The Chinese are just as bad but they are smart enough not to start a war. They only make threats.

-4 ( +3 / -7 )

You can like America or hate it or be neutral.

I don't really fit into any of those categories well. Lots of things about America are awesome. I love their movies and music, and most American people you meet out and about are pretty friendly. I have some extremely close American friends.

I also hate a lot of what America has done. I hate it that they destroyed Iraq, and on one ever had to face any repercussions whatsoever for that.

The real world is full of nuanced opinions.

The Chinese state is smarter than Russia. The Chinese are just as bad but they are smart enough not to start a war.

That's what the world thought about Russia. Just like the fact that a gun is legal until someone pulls that trigger pointed at someone their not supposed to, a country doesn't invade it's neighbors... until it does.

I do agree that the Chinese are smarter than the Russians though. The Kremlin are like the stupid thugs on the block. Think Devo from Friday. The Chinese are the ones that will mastermind your life away from you while you aren't looking.

-5 ( +2 / -7 )

The American armed forces don’t have a history of genocide or gang rape, except (gang rape) in a few rare cases.

Guess you missed history class when the subject of Vietnam came up!

Oh wait Afghanistan, Iraq, oh no nothing happen there, Guantanamo tea anyone?

Canada dished out $10 million to one Canadian held in Guantanamo and will soon do the same with others because of the human rights violations and the fact Canada cooperated with the USA in committing those violations.

Oh and please check out the South Korean investigation into war crimes and mass killings during the Korean war, conclusion was 90% of the crimes were done by the South Korean and their USA Ally both North Korea as always claimed.

I love how well the USA whitewashes it history.

4 ( +7 / -3 )

I’m not saying the US hasn’t committed atrocities. I’m just saying that you can’t compare the US to Russia. And I’m pretty sure the Japanese Imperial Army raped and killed more Korean women than the American occupiers. History is written by the victors. The Americans have committed grave crimes and killed innocent lives to this day. At least they acknowledge that.

-2 ( +2 / -4 )

You keep going on about America as if it has relevance. I ain’t America bruh. And the world is united against a Russia.

You may not be American but like many in the land of opportunity believe that the world consists only of North America (and sometimes Western Europe).

Rhe world is not united against Russia. Out of the above two regions, there is a lot of nuance, ranging from condemnation, to neutrality, and to full support of Russia’s re-action in this particular instance.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

Rhe world is not united against Russia.

The Democratic world is.

You keep misspellings Dollar as Democracy/Democratic.

Anyone know why there are sanctions on Cuba? Because the USA placed a dictator in charge of Cuba and the people kicked him out.

Upset about loosing their puppet government, they imposed sanctions on the one that took over.

Anyone know why there are sanctions on Iran, we'll replace Cuba with Iran and we have the same situation, oh and the rest of the so-called Democracies had no problem dealing with the Shaw of Iran!

Democracy is just a Cath word as they would be fine with a dictator as long as he is pro USA and Western Europe.

The "world" is united against Russia.

Funniest thing I've heard all day.

4 ( +6 / -2 )

The "world" is united against Russia.

Funniest thing I've heard all day.

Was I wrong? Then why isn't Russia able to pay its debts? Hmmm?

-6 ( +1 / -7 )

More aid for Ukraine is appropriate. The democratic free world that are able to help, are helping. Even China has sent food and medicine to Ukraine.

There is absolutely no doubt that Russia invaded Ukraine, that Russia is using scorched earth policy to capture cities and towns, and that they have committed murders and rapes. A few Ukraine personnel have returned the favor with extra judicial killing of Russian soldiers and Ukraine traitors. It is hard to blame people who's homes have been destroyed and family members killed, from taking revenge on some few of the captured enemy. War makes normal people killers in defense of their people or at the command of their leaders when invading a foreign land.

Russian propaganda is fully controlled and is pervasive in Russia and China. Ukraine propaganda is less reliant on lies, but like all countries on the back foot will embellish the truth where it is beneficial as well as use the power of the truth in a mix of information. Free press report what it see's in Ukraine to the world. Ukraine fights for survival and its right to be self determining.

G7 group, with the EU are democracies with large economies that do not always agree on many things. That they can agree on aid to Ukraine, sanctions against Russia and the need to keep the effort going for as long as is needed to allow Ukraine freedom is laudable and I support it in its goal.

Counter balancing China in trade initiatives is also positive. Competition always gives a better outcome to the average consumer.

All in all, though many anti west posters have nothing good to say about the G7 meeting, I think it is headed in the correct direction of pursuing peace and free competition in it's dealings with two important issues before it.

I don't see China or India on board,

Now that is 36% if the world not on board.

That is not counting the Russians, Belarus, and others.

Now India has a bigger GDP and economy than a few of the so-called G7 countries but isn't part of it.

India the largest Democracy in the world was offered "observer status" which it rejected.

Why because India is not ready to bow to the USA and Europe again, it did it's time as a colonial slave state.

It understand what is really going on it has watched the so-called Democracies back coups in its neighbors placing military dictators in power. It understands the revenge vendetta wars of Europe as is was forcibly dragged into them several times including WW1 and WW2.

Democracy is only a word used but nothing the USA or Europe really cares about if they control the dictator.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

I don't see China or India on board,

Oh dear, maybe try reading my posts:

Based on the world response to the invasion of Ukraine, the Democratic world doesn’t agree with you.

When did China become the democratic world /And again, if I'm wrong, then why isn't Russia paying their debts? You seem pretty desperate to avoid that little point.

Hilarious.

I am not again going to list all the lies Ukraine has put out and people here and western news repeat constantly.

But let's just concentrate on the main ones.

We didn't surender, we evacuated, we captured the border pushed the Russians back into Russia.

The first they "evacuated" into Russian POW camps.

The second was a staged video that even the regional SBU cheif said was staged ( got fired by Zelensky for admitting it) and the next day the Russians were on the outskirts of the regional capital many kilometers in Ukraine from the border.

30,000 Russians killed, nope the USA and UK say maybe 15,000 but more likely 10,000 and claims of high Russia desertion but few to show.

They claim constantly of gains need more money and weapons but lose more territory every day have a high rate of desertion ( Russia holds 10,000 + POWs many just deserted).

I wouldn't believe anything Russia says but Ukraine is just as bad.
