Good send it all. Let Putin pay for his aggression.

I’ve always wondered how and why so many countries are just falling over themselves to throw money at Ukraine and even risk a world war?

https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/world/senator-graham-ukraine-s-12-trillion-mineral-wealth-and-its-future/ar-BB1o1qqL

Now we know the truth!

I’ve always wondered how and why so many countries are just falling over themselves to throw money at Ukraine and even risk a world war?

Because just as the democratic Allies eventually did with Nazi Germany, a line in the sand needs to be drawn when fascist bullies invade sovereign nations in a war of territorial expansion.

Clearly, some would have marched along with the fascists. Make no mistake : these people despise freedom.

Great to see the G7 reach consensus on this. Send those funds, weapons and aid to Ukraine to fight the fascist Russian invaders.

4 ( +20 / -16 )

kabuki 9 seems like a better moniker.

-9 ( +11 / -20 )

If freedom was the only reason for G7 meddling but it is not.

The US, France and others are supplying offensive weapons to Ukraine to attack Russia far into its territory.

Russia infrastructure is a target.

It looks very offensive to me…

-10 ( +11 / -21 )

This little circus of clowns will cry when Russia starts taking all their assests that are on Russian soil, a plan that is currently being organized..

-4 ( +17 / -21 )

Nice round table, where can I get one for my S7 meetings?

-5 ( +8 / -13 )

Without China, India, Brazil, Australia, and Russia this so called G7 is Useless.

-8 ( +11 / -19 )

All the other countries ruthlessly invaded and slaughtered such as Iraq, Afghanistan, Syria, Libya, Serbia, Palestine and all the others, including by proxy, must be wondering why they didn't merit these special measures to punish the aggressor state/s (who are standing before you in these photos). All countries are equal but some are more equal than others.

It's called western hegemony and a rules-for-thee-but-not-for-me based order. These people represent a minority in the world - the golden billion or 12% - who are determined to preserve their class-based order and right to exploit other countries as the other 88% rise up against their hypocrisy and work for a multipolar world.

-10 ( +12 / -22 )

Russia infrastructure is a target

Any country has the right when invaded by an illegal aggressor like the Muscovite empire, to strike back at the aggressor to destroy their military and degrade their capacity to prosecute the illegal invasion.

Ukraine is hitting military targets unlike orcs who for 28 months of the 3 day invasion have deliberately targeted civilians and civilian infrastructure.

Western governments and especially the USA should never have tied Ukraines hands behind their backs in regard to western weapons, they should have been destroying the muscovites military in their own country since day one.

This little circus of clowns will cry when Russia starts taking all their assests that are on Russian soil, a plan that is currently being organized..

Go for it. Nobody cares.

-1 ( +12 / -13 )

The entirety of frozen assets should be handed over to Ukraine to assist in their defence against a fascist aggressor, not just the income, but every little helps.

2 ( +14 / -12 )

Russia infrastructure is a target.

It looks very offensive to me…

How do you think Russia gets the money to pay for its invasion?

We are going to keep wrecking Russian oil refining capacity until they gtfoo Ukraine. It’s pretty easy actually, and will continue to get easier as we keep destroying Russian AD. Russia has an AD problem.

4 ( +14 / -10 )

JJE - again, you are not arguing whether your point is right or wrong, just that you are jealous your country doesn’t get to do something the US did in the past. That isn’t moral. It’s just homerism.

If your were American, you would have been one of those people wanting to glass the entire ME after 9/11.

2 ( +13 / -11 )

@kurisp: Now we know the truth!

'Truth', perhaps instead better said to be cherry-picked material to reinforce an opinion? What is imagined by some does not constitute 'truth,' but I don't know how those words are translated in your language.I use English language definitions for both 'truth' and 'opinion'. Those who've posted lots of alternative facts probably use words differently from 'reasonable' English speakers, the latter are usually content using words according to their dictionary definition, but maybe in other languages they might mean something different.

This little circus of clowns will cry when Russia starts taking all their assests that are on Russian soil, a plan that is currently being organized..

they started years ago when Putin refused to return the planes used by Russian airlines.

there is around 300billion in Russian assets in the EU US, so theyre just playing catchup

3 ( +12 / -9 )

Our world "leaders". What a sham. They're all so slimy. I can't stand any of them.

-11 ( +8 / -19 )

U,why is Ukraine financing their own demise ,by shipping Russian gas to Europe

-21 ( +5 / -26 )

@PTownsend

Did you even bother looking at the link?

No?

Perhaps US senators are speaking a language which you don’t understand?

-11 ( +8 / -19 )

@Tom jj

Right you are, nobody except Meloni above 30% in approval ratings and most about to be ejected after the next elections.

Sunak, Schultz, Trudeau, Kishida, Biden (and hopefully Macron) thank you and goodbye.

-2 ( +10 / -12 )

What a picture, Kishida would have to be the only leader leading a functioning democracy.

IMO, get rid of the unelected (by the people) bureaucrats at the bookends, replace Trudeau, replace Scholz, remind the rest it's not politics, it's representing people, then we will have a more effective Gx.

-6 ( +8 / -14 )

G7 and the pope are the problem definitely not the solution! Just a hypocrisy photo op!

-11 ( +5 / -16 )

Politics aside, Zoom meeting anyone? What a waste of resources just to fund this country club membership meeting. Taxes are also being spent to send Kishida's wife to this.

-3 ( +7 / -10 )

Everyone flying across the world just to hear

"We must support Ukraine"

"We must support Israel"

i sleep...

-9 ( +8 / -17 )

@kurispu: Perhaps US senators are speaking a language which you don’t understand?

Lindsey Graham is a politician long known for his slippery flipfloppery, give him 24 hours and he'll say the opposite.

9 ( +13 / -4 )

Kick 'em where it hurts!

Go for it!

6 ( +13 / -7 )

That has got to be the goofiest photo we've seen of that motley crew in a long time.

3 ( +9 / -6 )

Great news: been waiting for this. And reading all the crying from the pro-Kremlin hordes is just the icing on the cake :)

A good day for freedom; a bad day for fascist invaders.

6 ( +13 / -7 )

I love how anyone criticising these schmucks gets downvoted, but no one seems to really be pointing out any of their redeeming qualities or any good that they've done. Really makes ya think.

Politics aside, Zoom meeting anyone?

No, they're not so stupid as to use something controlled by China. Zoom cannot be trusted.

Isabella, American have a history of financing it fail wars, you counting on American to protect you ,you are delusional as others naive supporters of Ukraine

-14 ( +3 / -17 )

A logical outcome. Russia invades and as a result its funds and assets are frozen in many nations. They continue to accrue interest. That interest is now being "loaned", not given, to the invaded in order to resist the invader. As long as Ukraine survives, Russia really loses nothing. If Ukraine ceases to exist then Russia loses its interest, to itself. Ironic symmetry.

7 ( +10 / -3 )

How many of you in favor of the US ,ending the war by nuking ,short of this it will be an external loss cause

-17 ( +2 / -19 )

Isabella, American have a history of financing it fail wars

And it has a history of financing successful ones, like WWII.

This one will be similarly successful.

How many in the pic gone by new year?

-10 ( +9 / -19 )

RK - your neutrality is slipping with those LordBebo tweets. There are probably less blatantly pro-Russian influencers you could have posted with the same info.

Just admit you are pro-RU as others here have done. If you would be happier with Russia winning than Ukraine winning, you are not neutral.

8 ( +13 / -5 )

UChosePoorly - There's nothing wrong with his opinion. We don't all think the same like the media would have you believe.

-9 ( +5 / -14 )

Strangely enough, there is Google Earth and Google Streetview images for all over Russia, unlike China or NK, so your average person with internet access in the West can see what Russian streets look like. There are some nice areas for sure, but it mostly looks pretty run-down and slummy.

Cool, when have you last visited that Russian slum to get info for such accurate first hand assessment. Was it fairly recently?

7 ( +12 / -5 )

Now I know that looks aren’t everything, but looks are one of the primary ways most people determine how slummy a place is, so your mileage may vary. Maybe to someone coming from an even worse place, Russian streets don’t look so bad, but they look pretty bad to me.

5 ( +8 / -3 )

How many in the pic gone by new year?

To be fair, Meloni has toned down her right wing rhetoric a lot since gaining power.

5 ( +6 / -1 )

UChosePoorly - There's nothing wrong with his opinion. We don't all think the same like the media would have you believe.

Who is “we” in this context?

5 ( +10 / -5 )

Russia has given these G7 countries some relevance and influence in a changing generation where their existence is hardly of any significance at all.

-11 ( +2 / -13 )

Misappropriating the interest on frozen assets violates international law.

However, the overall weaponization of the western financial system, and how it will backfire, is the bigger story. Countries right now are developing non-discriminatory payment systems, devoid of overall political control, to facilitate country-to-country settlements in respective national currencies. BRICS is doing this as you read this in conjunction with other countries.

Dedollarisation is a real thing. 9/6/24 saw Saudi Arabia not renew a little known 50-year Petrodollar agreement with the US to exclusively export oil in US dollars. Instead, they will open up trade in other currencies, especially Yuan. This means the end of the Petrodollar and is a significant step as the world moves away from the dollar.

Every round of non-UN mandated, unilateral economic sanctions moves the world one more step away from the dollar. Asset theft only adds to it.

Most Russian assets in US are held as treasury bonds (i.e. US govt debt).

Other countries are watching and will act. Watch.

-12 ( +4 / -16 )

Brazil, India and of course China's economies are bigger than Italy and Canada's.

Living in the past, in luxury of course at the taxpayers' expense.

-7 ( +5 / -12 )

ost NATO propagandists take what MSM tells them as " truth”

Yawn. Another one.

Be brave and tell us what we should be reading or watching to get closer to the truth on this.

I got a bit skeptical about the alternative media types just before the invasion when they told us a possible invasion by Russia was pure MSM propaganda. Apparently only the ‘sheep’ believed it was possible.

8 ( +11 / -3 )

Go watch Biden at the paratrooper drop. He is in very bad mental shape and should be removed from any and all discussions on everything related to defence. In his mental state he is going to shuffle us all into a world war with nuclear weapons.

If you have ever had a family member with dementia, cognitive decline or Alzheimer's you know exactly what his mental state is.

Putin may be a bad actor, but Biden is dangerous and the rest of the G7 need to run, run away, and come up with a peace plan, not a war plan.

Getting a bit overexcited again there.

Biden is clearly too old to run and the alternative is too. The alternative didn’t know what US state he was in the other day. Brain is mush.

Two better choices are needed.

How many in the pic gone by new year?

The guy in your fantasy profile pic, for one.

-1 ( +6 / -7 )

@Jimizo

Did you watch it, the full video? "Leader of the free world," is a scary thought.

But I suppose the positive point is that he could never remember the nuclear launch codes.

He remains the most dangerous G7 leader and he cannot continue to be involved in anything to do with Ukraine.

-11 ( +3 / -14 )

A sensible move as Russia won't be seeing those assets again.

2 ( +10 / -8 )

Yawn, another one. Yeah MSM tells the truth the whole tuth bro, no misreporting, out of context info, one sided narratives and opinions presented as "facts". Im sure anyone really interested in having balanced opinion can find other sources apart from Reuters, AP, CNN & Co whether that be account on X, Telegram and social media or less biased news sites from Middle East, Asia ,South America

Give us a few names of sources you regard as being closer to the truth on this.

Why be so coy? Are you embarrassed to name them?

If you can’t muster up the courage to name them, can you tell us why people who whine about the MSM are so reticent to give the names of better sources? It’s a bizarre phenomenon. It’s almost like children playing ‘wouldn’t you like to know?’.

It has no place in serious, adult discussions.

6 ( +12 / -6 )

Did you watch it, the full video? "Leader of the free world," is a scary thought.

Saw clips of it.

He’s too old and in decline. I’m pretty sure those around him know it too.

The alternative doesn’t know where he is either. He’s been blabbering about WW2 kicking off, Jimmy Connors as a failed president and Nikki Pelosi or something.

What part of ‘two better choices are needed’ don’t you get?

5 ( +11 / -6 )

@Jimizo

Biden is the President. The other guy is not. Biden has his fingers on the button of destruction, the other guy does not.

-8 ( +3 / -11 )

Misappropriating the interest on frozen assets violates international law.

Invading a neighboring country also violates international law. I know which of the two I consider the worse offence, do you?

7 ( +10 / -3 )

Biden is the President. The other guy is not. Biden has his fingers on the button of destruction, the other guy does not

Fair point.

Would you prefer the guy who didn’t know what US state he was in to have his finger on the button?

I think both are unfit.

Biden is declining from what wasn’t a very high bar to start. The alternative started from a bar barely above the deck.

Both need serious people around them. The alternative to Biden tends to scare serous people off - he destroys reputations.

Overall, I’d prefer a declining Biden given all that.

8 ( +12 / -4 )

Is it really that hard for you to find news sites such as Hindustan Times, Al Jazeera, Agencia Brasil

Phew! We got there eventually. Cheers.

What do you regard as their biases? All sources have biases.

Anyway, thanks again but wouldn’t these sources be regarded as MSM?

10 ( +13 / -3 )

The alternative didn’t know what US state he was in the other day. Brain is mush.

Two better choices are needed.

Ha ha ha. If you think ceding control of your currency to China is the way to go, you do that.

Here's some rope: your country (presumably Russia) can hang itself with it right over there.
