A denial from the regime!, well that's the end of it I guess.

Seriously? It was proven to exist.... the logs make the government look bad so they claim they don't exist... now they exist, they knew about it in February and they saying they didn't say a damn thing about them? Why is that not a coverup?

Deny today, admit it tomorrow, the sheeple will still shrug and say "shouganai".

And here we go again, another affiliate and open revisionist like Suga try to cover Inada.

Nippon Kaigi

This is getting farcical - the government is at odds with the defence ministry on this, at odds with the education ministry on Kake Gakuen, and at odds with the health ministry on banning smoking before the Olympics.

A lawyers retort, officially an anathema to the obvious. the arrogance of Chief Cabinet Secretary Yoshihide Suga  is breathtaking.

Didn't they deny the existence of these logs, that now turn out to be existing. Deny now that she had a part in that, although she said OK to a cover up? Nippon Kaigi at its finest. Denied historical facts so this must be small fry to them. She denied representing the Osaka school in court, but did. She must of made a great lawyer. And again the regime support this vote losing minister, who for once is under 70 yo. Ahh the new generation.

Someone at Nippon Kaigi really loves Inada.

Japan has a right to protect itself and the Constitution allows Japan to do just that. No idea where people get the idea that Japan cannot defend itself if attacked. You can't expect soldiers being shot at and just stand by doing nothing.

Do you remember Baghdad Bob / Comical Ali and his ridiculous repertoire of denials and bold-faced lying foolishness during the 1st Gulf War? Abe's government and the nonsense they spew isn't much different in many respects. Sad state of affairs.

Someone really needs to start campaigning for the average Japanese citizens(socialists?) awareness before those old smoking apologeezers do not hijack the whole state.

It's one of those life's ironies. Japanese politicians seem to have a huge problem admitting when they are wrong; and just when I'm about to make a huge, hyperbolic generalization about "corruption", I remember: 99% of the rest of the world is worse. It doesn't excuse the Wrongn. But we have to look at the problem in context.

@Daniel: you mean campaign for foreigners in Japan?

-3 ( +0 / -3 )

Either Suga hasn't found replacement of Inada or Abe will keep Inada.

Suga is the No. 1 Japanese defense chief, very capable one.

Any government documents suggesting a conflict situation in South Sudan would be sensitive in Japan, especially in connection with the war-renouncing Constitution that imposes strict restrictions on the use of weapons by the SDF overseas.

Well, if they wanted to cover up that SDF used weapons overseas and opened fire on the locals, they would not do it differently .... It is time to know what are those logs all about now....

As far from a transparent government as it can get!:( I thought the democratic society valued transparency?

Suga, Chief Cabinet Denial Minister : he is so unreal arrogant its already getting funny. ++ for Great Picture to JT

When Suga first appeared on TV, I thought he was unbelievably arrogant. Now I honestly believe it's just his way of getting through the embarrassment of whatever statement he's expected to serve up to the press on that particular day.

I can see him taking a massive slug of shochu, wiping his mouth on his sleeve, sighing, and saying "Right, let's get this over with," before he has to face the cameras with a straight face.

Wouldn't be surprised to hear that he cries himself to sleep at night....
