The threshold has been seen as one of the key factors discouraging part-time employees from working longer hours despite a labor shortage in Japan. Earnings above the threshold could reduce the household's total income through loss of the tax deduction.

Is JGovt really want to let people to have more money to endure inflation, no. Just need people to fill the labor shortage, where currently spouse/dependent try to avoid to work above 1 million, if they work beyond that they'll get tax charged. Who create this rule?

Stupid because illogical rule to keep a threshold.

Nothing is black or white.
