Wasn't this rejected the other day because of the casinos also being built? Those in charge of Expo realized that in many nations gambling is taboo, and so they could not allow Osaka to host it with the new casinos in close proximity.

Hmmmmm sounds legit.
Yeah like the Tokyo Olympics? False expectations. Also, the last one was held in Banpaku Expo Osaka and look whats left of it now? Where did all that money go?

Big waste of money. The previous Osaka Expo in 1970 was a great success. Kansai Area needed a lot of infrastructure investment. The expo also made a lot of Japanese, who did not have enough money to travel outside of Japan, interested in foreign countries and foreign culture. The time has changed. An expo is last thing we need.

What are they going to exhibit to the world? Their model for kindergartens?

It is basically the other way around. It does not make sense to showcase Osaka in Osaka. Expo is an opportunity for the world countries to show their culture and products to the local people hosting the event.

Are you saying Japan won't have their own pavilion at their own expo???

I do not think a host nation pavilion is necessary. It does not make any sense.
What they actually do is to make a pavilion that is not to showcase the host nation, but to present "future" or "world unity".

You sounded so sure here.
Here, not so sure. But the thing is, the host nation does have a pavilion, hence, my earlier sarcastic comment.
