India isn't as worried about China as Japan is

Yeah right, tell that to the 20 Indians who died fighting China in the Galwan Valley.

So - India holds drills and talks strategy with China, Russia and NK now - yet wish to hold drills with Japan too?

You can't run with both the foxes and the hounds.

India is NOT a trusted ally.

It's a good idea considering how belligerent China and Russia have both been behaving now. It's looking a lot like the 1930s again.

India may be a Quad member, however, they have just participated in a drill with Russia and China, named Vostok 22.

Japan, choose your close allies carefully.

IF Japan feels unsafe, they can leave Quad and join Hands with their Highest trading Partner

That would be the worst possible move for a free Japan.

And then they share or sell the experience and data with Russia and China at the next Vostok maneuver, huh?

Good News!

NK was not a part of Vostok 2022.

It’s obvious that you have an agenda against India since you club India which has never threatened Japan with those other countries, and I can guess where you are coming from.

But since Quad is an initiative championed by Shinzo Abe, and I am guessing that Japan and the US were well aware of the close India-Russia ties when they included India in Quad, there is obviously something that leaders of these countries see in keeping India on their side which keyboard warriors motivated by racism will never see.

Wow, with friends like India, who needs enemies?

"And then they share or sell the experience and data with Russia and China at the next Vostok maneuver, huh?"

That is the most obvious and common sense thing to say on this.

There are a lot of naive comments regarding India's playing both sides of the fence here.

Wake up people. India are taking the P*** out of Japan (and, actually the other countries in this equation). They cant fool all the people all the time.

The enemy of my enemy is my friend. That is why India was invited into the Quad. That mutual enemy isn't Russia, it is China. Aside from sharing a land border with China that could become an attack vector, India lies across a major trade route. Much of China's trade has to cross the Indian Ocean, especially the oil China needs for its energy sector. A strong Indian Navy integrated with the other navies of the Quad could shut down China's maritime trade across the Indian Ocean and South China Sea and in doing so starve China of the oil it would need to prosecute a war against Taiwan and/or Japan.

You have nailed it my friend! IF Japan feels unsafe, they can leave Quad and join Hands with their Highest trading Partner

Ukraine's biggest trading partner was China. Russia invaded China and China openly supports Russia's invasion. Really means nothing in this world.

Military means business. Military cooperation also means more business.

Armenia and Azerbaijan will also participate. They are bitter enemies who fought a war as recently as 2020 and their forces still occasionally skirmish on their disputed border. Another participant is Mongolia. Both the US and Mongolia consider each other to be Strategic Partners and English language instruction is required in Mongolian schools so important is their relationship with the US. India to its credit refused to send warships to participate in the maritime component of the exercise out of consideration for Japanese sensitivities on the subject. India is a significant buyer of Russian arms with that relationship dating back almost to India's independence. They have to balance relations with Russia and the US/NATO. As always, nothing is ever 100% one way or the other. The Confucian concept of Yin-Yang applies.

but yes same time having drills with Russia...seems no problem for Japan at all..or?
