Inose's book on winning published day before resignation

A book by disgraced Tokyo Gov Naoki Inose was published 24 hours before he stepped down from his job after being engulfed in a money scandal, it was revealed Thursday.

Entitled "Kachinuku chikara," (The Power to Win Through), the paperback describes how he helped Tokyo's Olympic bid succeed against tough competition from Madrid and Istanbul.

It was ranked sixth on Japan's Amazon paperback best-seller list at 7.30 p.m. Thursday.

"We asked Mr Inose to write the book when Tokyo won the bid in September. It was all coincidental that the book came out at this time," said Manobu Yamada, an official at the book's publisher PHP Interface.

"I guess there is a growing interest in the book all because of what is happening now."

He can use all those unsold copies to build one heck of a throne of lies.

If Inose had paid attention to the job voters elected him to do, instead of writing books of self praise and lining his pockets with bribes -- oops, sorry! "loans" -- he might still have gainful employment as governor. A position, by the way, he never really earned, but was anointed to assume by his predecessor Ishihara. The same thing happened when Keizo Obuchi supposedly requested Yoshiro Mori be allowed to take over as prime minister while unconscious following a major stroke. And Mori was a disaster too.

Maybe we should follow Inose around while loudly reading quotes of the book to him. That would be hilarious.

Maybe he should change the name to, The power to cheat through.

Now I see why he is resigining. This book deal was done so that he expected big income like he used to get before he became politician. His boss Ishihara was a top novelist before he became a politician. He does not have to worry his income anymore.
