What policy? The birth rate is continuing to go down. Until they realise you have to help parents throughout the growing up process not just in giving birth it won’t do anything to up the rates. Increasing the cost of living and taxes to pay for it will have an adverse effect making life tougher for families-hello?!

Birth rate policy funding is secured…now what policies do you have? Or will you need to have a bunch of champagne and steak dinners at some high priced Japanese inn owned by one of your family members or friends to figure this out?

So you ladies to get pregnant ?

I don't think that is going to work when thinking a pregnant woman to be a liability.

It’s not even a question of money. Did they have such support or their parents or their parents’ parents while the birth rates were still high? Or do they have any financial support in poor countries and areas all over the globe where they have currently the most births per woman? Of course not. Financial help won’t fix it and it even will mostly reach only those who are already in a good financial situation and not even in need of such help, but just only clever enough to grab it.

someone say to that LDP crook that there is no family support at all.

Of course Bond/Debt can easily fund anything until it burst.

Awa no gaijin

Even non heterosexual couples could conceive

So how exactly would two men or ladies conceive a child then?

LDP politician: Why don’t we raise taxes again on everybody?

LDP: Yeah, that’s a great idea!

Ewwwwwe…:..:…

Institute a policy like they have in some Scandinavian countries, where either the Mother or the Father can take a paid-leave year to care for their newborns. In today's societies, where both parents have to work to make ends meet, it must be very challenging to adequately care for babies.

Policy ? What policy ?

They have nothing to offer.

"I think it's completely plausible to consider covering it with government bonds," Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) lawmaker Hiroshige Seko said during a segment on BS TV Tokyo regarding the government's policy to take "unprecedented" steps in

Yes its completely "plausible" "consider""join hands""discuss" "Looters dont Pay"

But Just in time for Spring. Is it the sound of cheap votes coming soon?

Birthrate policy, what’s that? OK, I surely have some helpful and nice phantasies and ideas about that, but I guess that’s surely just the contrary or at least not what will be officially implemented or is meant. lol

@profsid

The current number of births in Japan, a country of 125 million people, is only slightly larger than France, a country of 65 million people. The currently born children in Japan won't be enough to support even a population of even 80 million, assuming the number of births were to stabilize.

It sounds like an “air ball” to me.

@thepersoniamnow Ask Awa no gaijin he has the magic touch to make the impossible happen. His post already said "if you can't figure it out there's no need to ask him LOLOL!! Wow please tell us how this could work because the light bulb is on but nobody is home!

No one needs to tell another how to have children. Most people who want children will find a way to have them.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

There are children who need to be adopted.

I see where this is leading. The government will make a program where people (women) are paid to have babies.

If only life was as simple as another NEW USELESS POLICY!

Before I get started, I'll get on record I LOVE KIDS, especially MINE - nothings greater in life IF DONE well!

If Japan wants more kids, what'll move the 'needle' you ask?! A few thoughts in no particular order BEFORE I go to pick-up my kid!

1) It's about confidence in the future, anything that helps great, anything that hurts NOT great

2) Confidence relates to health, economy, security, safety, and whole of other matters worthy of discussion!

It's a CONFIDENCE GAME, always has been and always will be, so let's do itT

Also should add, need a society that....

1) Competitive education system for todays globalized connected world not legacy backward looking one

2) Predominance of OTHER vs. SELF focused Types

3) Dynamic economy, not one controlled by Govt./BOJ, meaning less regulation, taxation & private sector risk taking

4) Greater equality, especially gender, unhappy societies don't have kids, when most unhappy, well there you go!

5) LESS negative "-" people like all perps "-" HERE!!!

6) MORE positive CAN DO people who BELIEVE in the FUTURE!

That about sums it up, so get on it, clocks ticking, excess deaths due to prior covid infection will increase BIG time this year and the out years, so no time to waste!

@Awa no Gaijin Your comments are comical but if you look at your comment it also indicated that "the non heterosexual man and the non heterosexual women can still make a baby". Are you trying to take the safe route, my understanding from your response is that two men can make a baby if either of the non heterosexual men get artificially inseminated!!! Stop thinking with your fingers and express your illogical thinking logically.

Kaimy

And of course a non heterosexual woman that wants a child could get a sperm donor and receive artificial insemination or what they call a test-tube baby.

Then there's stem cell tissue culture etc etc etc

Keep in mind in Scandinavian counties they're massively utilizing IVF, freezing eggs and having children later. Average women in Stockholm Sweden, FIRST child at age 39 and they're having far more kids than women in Japan as well on average.

More mature parents are not as worried about sacrificing their freedom, have more resources, better judgment etc. on AVERAGE. That would be me FYI!

It also helps they treat women with dignity and equality there as well, so you don't have this insane battle of the sexes, angry unhappy society. Just saying!!!!!

Keep in mind babies born in Japan NOW includes ALL babies born to 1/2 JN's OUTSIDE Japan, most of whom will not be returning! Problem's far far more serious than the official headline number, that also includes babies born to non JNs here in Japan, most of whom will be leaving!

Seems Govt. needs to start producing babies, charge adults without kids above certain age 'baby' tax, it's coming!

I will be happy if the government supports birth control, but not to have children. Japan's population for sustainability is about 80 million. It went past that mark and must endure some discomfort until it falls back to that level. Older people are quite healthy and many would prefer to work rather than sit around retired. In addition, skilled women, especially after children have left the nest, can adequately reduce worker shortages.
