negligible?, that is little consolation to Japan's fishing communities is it.

Scientists generally agree that the environmental impact of the treated wastewater would be negligible, but some call for more attention to dozens of low-dose radionuclides that remain in it, saying data on their long-term effects on the environment and marine life are insufficient and the water requires close scrutiny.

The statement generally agree, dos not inspire confidence.

Then we come on to TEPCO involvement, some would justifiably conclude complicity.

Exports of Fish & Fish Preparations in Japan increased to 30837.65 JPY Million in June from 29160.23 JPY Million in May of 2023.

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida could quite rightly be accused of political fudgery.

Tip toeing on the fence of taking a clear responsible course of action that supports Japan's fishing communities.

To all the armchair critics: if you can provide a better plan than the IAEA-endorsed one, please do so. If not, we can only trust the experts who have researched this over many years.

Is it perfect? No.

Is it the best course of action in the circumstances? Yes.

Kishida to visit Fukushima

Whoa!!! I wonder, will this be his first ever visit to Japan?

I see this guy, taking pictures all over the world, he must be super famous and very rich going to every country that exists in 2023. I wonder what he does for work, he has so much free time to do all that traveling.

I hope he likes it in Japan. Maybe he could visit a shrine or eat some sushi.

What is the point of his visit to Fukushima?

The release of even more contamination has been decided no matter the opposition

Wow!......Is Kishida actually in Japan?.......Maybe its an AI model of him.

…which the government and TEPCO say is safe for humans if consumed in small amounts.

The government says…

‘Tritium is safe if consumed in small amounts’

What is a small amount of radiation and for whom?

Weasel words, if repeated enough then everybody starts parroting the same effluent

For an adult or a young child, radiation is much more deleterious than for an adult.

So, the government is absolutely incorrect!

Tritium emits Beta particles which if ingested can last in the body up to a month and emit radiation that can penetrate skin and muscle cells leading to …cancer!

If the water were that safe then it would be dispersed on land, right?

It isn’t, so it is being literally being ‘fed to the fish’ through a kilometer long pipe!
