We should all appreciate it. ISIS terrorists should never believe they can rest easy. They need to know they will be hunted down any where, any time. That is what this latest raid accomplished.

What a surprise, Japan agreeing AGAIN with with USA does. Or accepting what USA tells it to say? We have these sort of articles about once or twice every week, but recently it's become a daily occurence.

Because they are needed to try to show support on the “world stage” for the failing US administration and their weak and ineffective actions.

in article there is no mention who did main job in Syria in war against terrorism and yes-it was not USA.

btw on base of what US army operates in Syria?any UN resolution or invitation from syrian government?

let me guess no mandate at all just own decision to act without asking anyone and without care about any international law?

how abt women akd kids killed during attack-just "side effect" or "collateral damage" as usual.say in My Lai in Vietnam?

Chief Cabinet Secretary Hirokazu Matsuno said the fight against extremism continues and Japan will continue to work closely with other nations...."We will work closely with the international community to eradicate the hotbeds of extremism and ensure peace and stability in the Middle East, including Syria...

What in the world could Japan possibly offer in these efforts, other than these empty words?

What are they gonna do, chip in gas money for our helicopters? Keep an eye on the 14 Syrian refugees they've let in over the past 3 years?

Seriously... come on

This is what good leadership can achieve. Kudos to Biden's administration. This was never possible from the previous government.

People need to understand that if you do not bother America - you are good. However, any entity, person or institution bothers America will regret it. No matter how long it takes. So, why even try to bother America?

This is a publicity stunt by Joe Biden.

I am glad that Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi is gone, and will no longer terrorize and indiscriminately slaughter innocent men, women and children (mostly Muslim).

I am also grateful to the U.S. military members who risked their lives during this mission.

Since this mission was conducted in Syria it seems as if it was also conducted to annoy Assad and one of this main supporters, Vladimir Putin. The timing was interesting.

(It would be nice if Joe Biden was as secretive after the raid as he was before. ISIS would know who did it. Not necessary to announce it publicly, unless it were a publicity stunt meant to annoy Assad and Putin.)

It may be payback karma for ISIS but the 七回忌 for murdered Japanese journalist Kenji Goto was last week.

"We will work closely with the international community to eradicate the hotbeds of extremism"

Really? So can we expect US bombs to be raining down on Saudi Arabia in the near future?

No,I didn't think so.

LOL @KishidaSori Whitewashing his failures again by using media to hide yet another failure. "How fast is your popularity falling now."

@Pukey2:

Yep this is LDP's playbook there is a reason for it J-Gov is busy pushing out everything as news worthy that avoids what is actually going on inside Japan which is nothing but covid-19 omicron... we will soon be at PM 101.

ISIS leader Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi was responible for orchestrating the Yazidi genocide. Thousands of Yazidis were beheaded and burned alive. ISIS kidnapped thousands of Yazidi women and girls and enslaved them. Abu Ibrahim blew himself up along with his wife and children. US special forces did the world a favor.

@TomiToday

Read the article again and you will notice it states Abu Ibrahim al-Hashimi al-Qurayshi killed his family himself. I feel sorry for the children but strongly suspect they would have grown into extremists like their father. The world is a better place with them gone, especially the father.

The truth is that the US chose to mount a much riskier ground assault than an air attack precisely to try to save the women and children they knew were living with the two terrorists. US forces used a loudspeaker to tell them they were surrounded and to send the children out so they would not be hurt. During the raid US forces managed to save a number of children and get them away from the fight, but was unable to reach the object of the raid before he blew himself and his family up.

If the US was really as cavalier as you claim they would have simply flattened the place with a precision guided bomb. One good sized bomb from a drone could have flattened the place in an instant killing everyone inside with no risk to any US personnel. Instead the US planned, trained for (multiple rehearsals using a full scale replica of the site) and mounted a very risky ground operation hoping to prevent the needless deaths of innocents.
