Here we go again. Another missile launch. Another condemnation.

Maybe if we give Mr Kim some more food he'll stop?

That's worked so far...

How, exactly, did the Chinese condemn this latest launch? What were the exact words they used?

4 ( +6 / -2 )

You are right dharmadan, there's nothing in this article from the Chinese Foreign Minister. But the headline makes it sound like he openly condemned the launch.

Dharmadan and sensei: China has st only condemned NK's actions before, so instead of knocking it, why not welcome it? We all know what you'd be saying if they didn't condemn it, so now that they are it's not enough? I find the fact that all three nations are condemning it together is admirable and positive. It'll make NK all the more hysterical, but too bad. If it's saying China condemns it, obviously they agreed with at least some of what the other nations said, else it would not be reported that they condemned it at all.

On the surface, the chinese may be expressing the mildest condemnation of this missile launch because they are in Japan, but secretly you know they are sending congratulatory messages on wechat to their n korean counterparts for another successful launch...

And we all know that you can read minds and predict the future

All I was doing was commenting on the lack of information in the article, and the misleading headline. Once again you took the ball and ran with it

I always confuse it for the 瀬戸内海 when they say "Sea of Japan". I wonder if the Chinese call it the "Sea of China"...

1 ( +2 / -1 )

They don't. They call it the Sea of Japan (日本海).

Nice to see these 3 nations come together on anything. East Asia could be such a powerhouse if these countries squabbled less.

The sea in question washes the shores of a number of countries, but China is not one of them - unless they've constructed an island recently. Call it the Sea of Japan or the East Sea if you like. The Seto Inland Sea (瀬戸内海), as the name implies, is entirely bounded by Japan though it is divided into parts with each having a local name. Fascinating place. I`d like to see the submarine that they are using to fire this missile. Having the missile capability is one thing. Deploying it in a submarine will be quite another.

No they don't. Now stop trolling. It must really get on your nerves when the Chinese, South Koreans and Japanese agree on something.

Where are the North Koreans getting their mobile launchers and SLBM capable submarines? China's front door image of condemning North Korea is about as credible as their "peaceful rise". Try and find a UN resolution against North Korea that China hasn't blocked or watered down. They protected North Korea all these decades allowing them to develop their nuclear and missile capability but stand firm against South Korea's right to defend itself from those very missiles.

Maybe they want to prevent another Korean War.....or another Libya......or Iraq....

A lot of people in the SDF will be happy to see the sub. Nothing solid so far. If there is North Korea is good at it's secrecy.

Seton naikai is eastern side inland sea of Chugoku region. Western side of region faces Nippon Kai.

Actuary, China is more friendly with S Korea than with North. China and SK together perform annual Japan bashing.

Honestly, I've been very suspicious of the secret ties between Zhongnanhai and Kim Jong-Un. Un is simply a Don Quixotic stooge of Beijing. Watch out.

No change with China. But a huge change in South Korea. The anti-Japan element in South Korea has been greatly reduced. The reason for it is mainly the drop in the Chinese economy, it's effect on South Korean trade and most of all China's unwillingness to reward South Korea for years of subservience. South Korea has even come out against China's South China Sea expansion. The Park government is working to remove textbooks in he South Korean schools that are biased against Japan and have created a generation of Japan-hating young people. The same Park government is determined to take the Comfort Women issue out of the hands of the Chong Dae Hyup (韓国挺身隊問題対策協議会) who have manipulated the surviving comfort women for their cause, leading to the ongoing Japan-SKorea agreement to end this issue permanently. Things are changing in South Korea, although of course the haters still remain. But now the government is moving towards a different direction. China's objection to the THAAD being a very big reason for it.

@Ossan Thank you for your explanation. I believe these three countries behave harmoniously, all Asian countries can relax.

Kishida said Tokyo lodged a protest to the North over the missile, and urged his counterparts to step up cooperation as they face the latest development.

“I hope to coordinate closely in order for Japan, China and South Korea to lead the efforts of the international community,” he said.

Yes, yes, yes. Okay, the next move and the only logical one is to invade North Korea once and for all, kill off the nutter regime and free the enslaved population. We all know it's eventually going to end at that but still seem to be waiting for the nutter to go too far. Why not just pick the fat bastard off in the middle of the night when he least expects it. I'm sure they could figure out a date and then move on it.
