Long live, as simple as that.

Yeah.... and a lot can and will happen before December. We'll see if this ever happens.

A good opportunity for Abe and Moon to meet. Hopefully the current impasse can be resolved in a new framework. Only northeast Asians can help northeast Asians.

The exceedingly incredibly superbly lingering bitterness over what South Koreans perceive to be Japan's 'insincere' attempts to come to terms with its past continues to haunt modern day relations.

Or something.

First, why waiting until December? They need to tackle the problem now!

Second,

Relations between Japan and South Korea, however, have recently been getting worse due to historical and trade issues, and depending on the course of the conflict, the scheduling of the trilateral summit may be put in limbo.

Can't see it. My student said he enjoyed climbing Mt. Fuji happily with so many Koreans, and I observed Japanese enjoying Korean Town over the weekend.

So who's hating who? Here in Japan everyone seems to be getting along great together.

For most people, this is true. The real dangers are the politicians and the media who benefit from division, anger and trouble. If this continues, normal people will start to succumb to the constant propaganda and the steady conversion of people around them.

The media is supposed to be a guardian of the people that keeps politicians honest. But most media today is simply trying to engage readers and viewers to make more money. That works better if people are upset, angry or scared. So those are the emotions they seek to create.

Obviously asking the government to control the media is like asking a wolf to manage the farm dogs. People really need to be educated and made aware of the dangers and subtleties of propaganda. Everybody is affected to some degree.

Absolutely correct. But you left out one more, the incessant Korean nationalist trolls who flood all the news media forums to spread their constant hate of Japan and revisionist Korean history. Some of the ones on JT can be found on other sites. These people also either benefit from division, or simply make up something lacking in their lives by spreading hate.

But it remains uncertain at this point if Abe and Moon will meet bilaterally, even if the summit takes place as planned.

Moon never meets Sun. Moon Hates Sun

Yes, that's true. In fact, I think social media has made mainstream media much worse, as they try to compete.

They can all sit around finger pointing and blaming each other for their sins of the past. Sounds productive.

It is just to get old hardliners to come out and vote. It will be meeting of postering!

Contrary to reports of tabloid-like Japanese newspapers, S. Koreans are still friendly to Japaneses.

For example:

Don't be fooled by Japanese tabloids such as Sankei. S. Koreans oppose to Abe and his ultra-right wing group.

Someone please tell China AND Korea that WW2 is over. They don't believe us.

@Mas

Japan already lost its credibility. Please tell Abe that WW2 is over.
