Abe’s approach toward Trump would be “not accommodating, not opposing

LOL what?

I wish Abe would stop trying to prove that Japan is the servant of the US.

Prove?

No ones bending over to anyone. America and japan are going to become economic powerhouses. The other countries are gonna miss the trump train and continue to cry in their diapers.

If it is good for Japan, why didn't they do it earlier?

@sf2k a casino will never fail in country that is classified as one of the biggest gambling nations in the world. Abe should look at the sky. There is sunlight, plenty. It is also energy and currently not owned by us.

Kowtowing comes so naturally to these blokes doesn't it? Trumps gunna love Japan . Not too many countries can swallow their pride and dignity with such grace and ease.

America does not need nor want Abe to serve it, America wants equal access to Japan's consumer market, and nothing else. But Abe does not want to be the one to give up Japan Inc's monopoly on the domestic economy, which they have badly abused. So he is trying to buy his way out of equal trade with America with nonsense like creating jobs, investment in America, and buying more energy. And even this promise to buy more energy will come from energy sources and channels which are partly and wholly owned by Japan Inc.

>It would be cheaper to let Trump build a casino in Japan, let it fail, then he'll leave you alone

@sf2k I am from Atlantic City NJ and I just laughed so hard at how true that is.

Only thing Abe needs to bring when he meets trumpy is his leash and collar.

Japan could be EXPORTING energy if they would just harness geo/hydrothermal energy. not going to happen while gas prices remain low, with many huge gas production facilities coming online in Australia Oman, US the price of gas will remain relatively low for the foreseeable future.

isnt it cheaper and easier from Russia? Wasting our tax money ?

Abe is bending over and grabbing his ankles hard.

Disgusting sycophancy. Surely unpresidented?

I want Japan to focus more on renewables, but one thing I will say is that if they are going to be buying oil and gas from somewhere anyway, better from America than from states that fund terrorism.

Abe is axxe-licking Trump. Stand up to him! Stick with the TPP. One gets the confirmation that without a friendly USA, Japanese leaders like Abe are just going into the corner of the room to cry. Maybe the Okinawa Governer should be PM of Japan.

Regarding LNG imports, I wish someone would explain why Japan is not a world leader in renewable energy development. A country with so few natural resources should be looking for ways to exploit its renewable energy potential, not just looking for cheap imports of LNG.

Please Mr Abe, stop with the toadying, it's totally crawly-bum-lick.

A no-brainer - more commitment to renewables needed - solar, bio mass, geothermal, off-shore wind, tidal etc etc And with existing technology upgrade the national grid to a smart grid that can make the best use of renewable energy once it's made.

I wish Abe would stop trying to prove that Japan is the servant of the US.
