At a news conference Tuesday, Suga said China had informed Japan that two Chinese coast guard vessels would sail through the Tsushima Strait off Kyushu and the Tsugaru Strait off Aomori Prefecture. Both are international straits.

Japan is not the one sailing JCG vessels in close proximity to Chinese territories. Clearly they should start but a respect for the rule of law and no intention of provoking and antagonizing neighbors keeps them from doing so. It's a shame that the same can not be said for China.

So Xi is leaving Abe no choice but to actively participate in FON operations against China? How does that help China? They are already angry at Australia and every other nation supporting FON ops in the South China Sea.

"Both are international straits." Both incidents happened in the international straits so what's all the fuss about this? Chinese officials in Beijing are still laughing, they seem to know how to make Japan jump.
