"Anyone is at risk of getting infected..."

Politicians only admit this when they are infected themselves. So woke!

"Neither the minister nor the staffer who tested positive for the virus has shown any symptoms, but as a precaution, the minister will remain at home until he receives further notice on his condition from health authorities," the office said in a statement.

An amazing feat to be tested without symptoms!

How do they do it?

Virus is equal in infecting people, but test is not in its eligibility.

Good point kurisupisu. While the rest of us are refused entrance to hospital for testing 'WITH' symptoms, the rich are tested if they come in contact with someone tested positive and 'WITHOUT' symptoms. I guess it is true, MONEY TALKS

As above posters mentioned, how come those with connections can get tested, even without symptoms? Meanwhile, the rest of us are rejected and only accepted for a test unless on verge of death. More and more cases in Japan now where people almost dying, or even dead being tested, and being found positive.

For the average person in japan, after getting symptoms, it takes a week to finally get a test (if you make a lot of noise!), and a week before results are out (that isn't a joke). Many people give up, or are just rejected, especially if you are young. Heard young are just flat out rejected if they have any symptoms and ask to be tested.

It's deeply ironic that Nishimura, the Economy Minister who deliberately impeded the efforts of prefecture governors to close down businesses, is now in quarantine for coronavirus.

As the Economy Minister he couldn’t readily agree to business shutdown without compensation.

He did not follow the government guidelines : stay home and telework,

like all politicians.

it is possible because one could be ASYMPTOMATIC - meaning they do not show symptoms but could be a carrier

@Michael Hooper No they can't. While it is true that a person without symptoms can infected and coudl transmit the virus, they can't be tested. Official guidelines only allow testing for people with strong symptoms over a period of at least 4 days. That's the main issue here.
