Is the unemployment level so low that quality, high paying jobs are no longer needed in Japan? Japan makes parts for pick-ups that have small armament mounted on them in Syria, et al. Why? It's a great pick-up! Is there a prohibition of parts sales to countries that have these pick-ups?

So... it's OK to make parts for fighter aircraft, so long as they are parts for US & FRIENDS.inc

You gotta love it when a ban literally has zero meaning.

this will help the Defense industries in Japan, as well as gaining knowledge to then design and improve Japan own's defense capabilities in the future. it's a small step, but they should move to build up on this.

Some people won't be happy until Japan has no defense industry or military.

It was a silly ban. Politicians always destroy jobs. The parts would be made in Japan not in China and that would put people to work in Japan. This is not the electronic industry that shipped all of the jobs to China. What good has the ban done? It has kept Japan from needed technology and Japans people from gainful employment.

Where is the vote? Politicians make decisions based on a fear of losing in the next election. If they vote to stop the production of F-35 parts, they are voting to increase unemployment and send the jobs back to the USA or Canada. "You can't have your cake and eat it too." The voters need to tell the politicians that they want jobs, or they (politicians) will not have jobs.

Kent Mcgraw- wrong : Both China and japan should be allowed to produce parts and F35 jetfighter planes granted by US .

Luiz/BRAZIL: Why in the world would the U.S. willing give their technology to China?

Japan is at least reasonable and friendly to the U.S.

Still, Mitsubishi actually sold secret designs to U.S. submarine props to China. Japan (Mitsubishi) must have really made up for that fiasco (by buying the fighters or elsewhere) to get included in this deal.

Viking68, they will make up to that by sell this to China too.
