Unfortunately, Japan has failed to establish any Air Defense Radar/Missile sites and Anti-Ship missiles on the Senkakus. Japan has had many YEARS to consolidate its authority there and their failure to act quickly will cause many problems with the new Law China has put in place.

Japan should act quickly (maybe last chance), before they lose their ability to control the area around the Islands and their area in the East China Sea.

Let's look at facts:

Which country won WW2 with a massive military and nuclear weapons? USA

Could anyone stop USA in 1945 to 1955. No

USA recognized Mao communist China instead of Taiwan.

USA helped communist China rise as a party, recognized them, let them become the world manufacturer by moving all the jobs there (the rest of the world follow).

USA is more responsible for China rise, CCP rise then any other country on Earth.

Here's an idea. How about expressing concern to China?

Japan pls don't "express concerns" and act instead. Be self confident, you are still 3rd largest economy in the world

Instead of enacting socially responsible economic policies, Japan, like the West, has been more than happy to outsource its manufacturing base to the Chinese in order to keep the hedge funds and shareholders rolling in the green.

You all know who China was long before you ever got into bed with her - so take some responsibility for your avarice and quit screeching like beeches.

Exactly !

We fed this regime enough so they can now build aircraft carriers and other warships with our money.

We created the beast !

The current China is the capitalism ugly son.

Goodlucktoyou. The UK doesn’t need to “rule the waves” as another miss informed poster said, to have economic interests in a rules based system and freedom of the seas, a concept it has supported for centuries, and consequently it acts in concert with allies seeking the same goals, eg Japan among others. To educate you a little, all new ships have teething problems and neither of the aircraft carriers are “leaky”. No their crews are not all down with Wuhan Corona virus and again no they are not chasing fishing vessels, we have specialist ships for that.

Hello kitty, the answer to your question is in the article.

There needs to be a concerted effort by all affected countries and all around the globe concerned by the aggressive, militaristic and expansionist ambitions of the CCP controlled China under the Imperial rule of Winnie the Pooh.

You perfectly described what I want to say.

Thanks.

I think if you do some studying, governments cannot prevent public corporations from setting up production abroad in order to achieve lower production costs. Nor can governments forces companies to remain if they are operating at a loss. Companies will either abandon that nation wholesale or go out of business. Those that remained would, in time due to lack of international competition, become technically backward and inefficient. Their costs would be high, leading to high prices for second rate products. Brazil and India both tried "Import Substitution" economic policies. They failed miserably. Anyone remember the 1960s Dodge Darts Brazil and VW Beetles car companies in Brazil were building well into the 1990s at their import protected factories? In a high wage country like Japan or the US, no company can make certain low cost goods profitably at a price the world is willing to pay for those products. The best things governments can do is education, infrastructure and healthcare. Develop your human capital to the maximum extent possible so they can do highly technical work that pays high wages. Beyond that governments can't chose which industries to settle in their nation. Subsidizing firms is always a money loser overall and historically, nations have made the wrong choice of which industries to subsidize.

The best, and most simplest way is to boycott all goods made in China. That includes foreign companies exporting their goods made in China. Stop trading with them entirely.

In addition bar all Chinese passport holders from Foreign Travel, and close all diplomatic missions, except for one to remain in Switzerland for a life-line diplomatic channel. Countries which continue trade with China to face the same exclusion penalties as China described above. Only societies acting together will turn the tide on China and make them listen! Any other solutions? Anyone?

Just more hand wringing from an indecisive Japan.

"Unfortunately, Japan has failed to establish any Air Defense Radar/Missile sites and Anti-Ship missiles on the Senkakus."

"Japan deploys anti-ship, surface-to-air missiles on southernmost islands

April 7, 2020"

"The Japan Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) has held an induction ceremony on the 5th of April marking the completion of the deployment of mobile anti-ship and surface-air-missiles on Japan’s remote outer islands in the East China Sea.

The deployment saw the transfer of an unspecified number of truck-mounted launcher units for the Type 03 surface-to-air missile (Chu-SAM Kai) and Type 12 anti-ship missiles deployed to the island of Miyako-jima, which forms part of Japan’s southernmost Okinawa Prefecture."

"This deployment is part of an effort by Japan to refocus its defence posture to improve its ability to defend its remote southwestern islands. Miyako-jima lies south of the disputed Senkaku Islands that are administered by Japan but also claimed by China and Taiwan, although the latter is not actively pursuing its claim."

As a rule, I always check before saying/typing anything.

Please express to China .

China is laughing. UK has about one leaking aircraft carrier, sailors all have Covid19, and all available warships are chasing French fishing boats in the North Sea.

What on earth does it have to do with the UK? Britannia no longer rules the waves I'm afraid.
