Trump must be grinning a big smile realizing how influential he is to affect international affairs.

So Trump is their biggest existential crisis ever? Not the Mongol invasion in the late 1200s, not the Japanese invasion of the late 1500s, and certainly not the troubles of the early 1900s?!

It was the Biden administration that knocked Korea’s and Japan’s heads together and got them to behave like grown up allies

The brouhaha of Trump's second entry to the world stage with his MAGA slogan seems to me to be the beginning of the end of the great American era. Sorry to say that.

Meaningless as the PPP is about to lose power, and any agreement Japan had with Korea will be void once DPK comes to power.
There's zero chance DPK would want to stay in the current alliance.

Yoon, the man so many here at JT rallied around simply because he played nicely with Japan has scuppered the party boat for the foreseeable future. Hopefully the next government is more focused on the needs of the South Korean people as there are a long list of issues that need to be addressed.

Too late. Trump took office in 2016. When South Korea has to get a new president, they should anoint Kamala Harris. Sometimes an outsider is the best thing for an organization struggling within. But, seriously., that peninsula needs to get it's affairs in order. They've had since the mid-80s to do so, but aside from the Olympics in 1988, seem to keep messing things up. Japan and North Korea are t much help. Just aligning 100% with the US and ignoring EU and ASEAN is the best thing for ROK at the moment. Godspeed their recovery and reclaiming top dog status in Asia.

I'm just curious, but the sign has English and Korean, but no Japanese.

It is terrible that Japan's prime minister is pro-China Ishiba at a time like this.
Trump will not be able to build a relationship like the one between him and former Prime Minister Abe.
It is clear that Japan will be at the mercy of America's unreasonable demands.
Will Trump also withdraw US troops from South Korea?
The day when South Korea is returned to its rightful master may be approaching.
