Kamikawa was quoted by the government as telling the acting foreign minister that Iran should act "rationally" and encourage self-restraint among the relevant forces over which the Middle Eastern country has influence

did she say the same thing to Israel? Still slaughtering at will!

Looks like she's already got the message out during the phone-call, what's the point of travelling all that way just to reiterate the same.....

Maybe she's just putting the hard miles in, in readiness for her bid for Prime Minister, following in air-miles Kishida's footsteps.

Her visiting is a good thing as she can talk sone sense into those troubled nations. They will learn from her fine example. With luck, the food will agree with her.

Marc...I bet she travels with a Japanese chef....and anyway the countries mentioned are very modern, lots of oil money, and fine dining opportunities.

The phone call was to her counterpart in Iran. She is not visiting Iran. Rather she is visiting Bahrain and Qatar. She will probably discuss matters with them she would not discuss with Iran.
