Aah, golden week junket....as usual. Given the circumstances, I'm sure there was a video conference option to participate, but nope, staying true to form.

Good move... Getting all four run-down, basket-case, politically irrelevant areas of Europe over in one swift visit.

Although Slovenia may have a reasonably bright future....

To promote the olympics ?

Mr Motegi should stay home, contemplating how to improve his office immigration policies. Considering how long term residents feel about Japanese attitude towards them. There is no place on the world stage for people like Mr Motegi, who rebuked the UN findings on Mr Ghosn's judicial saga and refused to accept and build on the damming outcome of the enquest.

Motegi san, listem! they might invite you, but make no mistake, they are only interested on your money. No G7 country has anything, and I mean nothing, to learn or take from you and your anachronistically out of touch cabinet's colleagues. Go back to study, European and American history and philosophy above all. You have a great deal to learn my friend, you really do! Traveling to the uk :)... of all places. Stay home !

Don't bring back the variant, please.

I hope he will be obliged to do his 10 day quarantine and two PCR tests when he visits the UK, and the Japanese equivalent when he returns.

All 4 countries have a bright future.

You can show your presence on a screen through a video call and save Japanese taxpayer some money. But of course consideration for taxpayers doesn't figure in LDP politicians thinking. Only first class hotel & private jet junkets, even during a pandemic.

And Japanese politicians are the only ones traveling?
