Good to see the Japanese government just 'giving away' billions of yen to other countries. Meanwhile, millions of Japanese back here are caught in the poverty trap!
However, if it's a proxy war with China that is being considered then.....,,,,

I am sure east asian leaders except china are eyeing visiting Japan to receive their patrol boats. Abe will run the economy to the ground just to spite china.

Japan isn't giving away billions of yen. It's decommissioned boats from it's overaged fleet. The scrap value can't be high. The intention behind this deal is probably more to make it easier for politicians to grant money for new boats for the Japanese coast guard.
