"European car and car part manufacturers are fearful the removal of tariffs will lead to a rise in Japanese car imports," surprise , seeing Toyota,Honda and Nissan have plants that have been supplying the European comunity for years from their European plants. So how will a " removal of tariffs will lead to a rise in Japanese car imports," affect the Eurozone. ?????

Japanese exports to Europe are negligible. The high yen prevents profitable trading in the automotive sector which is why they have plants outside of Japan as some are in Europe. I think they should be more worried about Japanese manufacturers abandoning those plants in Europe due to current economic downturn.

This is what Japan should be doing, instead of failing to make a decision on joining the TPP. Europe accounts for just over 10% of Japanese exports and this should increase under a free trade deal.
