compliments exceed commerce between Japan and India whereas it's opposite with China. Anyway, whatever "small" business Japan can generate from India is GOOD.

Unlike China, India will not cheat Japan or loot the technology of other countries. It is late but still Asia can hope for a better and safe future if India become a super power to counter China. Japan and Korea should invest more and more in India to achieve this goal for Asia. Very good first step...go fast forward...

Japan has $200 billion trade with china and $15 billion with India. The growing might of china was readily due to the outcome of Japanese investment in hightech areas in china. Now it is learning the truth about Democracy.

I think it was Francis Fukuyama who likened Indian democracy to sausage making, He said that like sausage making, Indian democracy looks less appealing the closer one gets to the process.

Nearly one-third of Indian legislators are under some form of criminal indictment,

India is not the way for Asia to go

Got to agree with Dog - I'd hate to be having to do any type of business with India. Cutting through the corruption, red-tape and inefficiency would make dealing with China look like a dream! Anyway, as pointed out the trade between Japan-India will remain miniscule compared to Japan's main partner, China.

This is excellent. If Japan and India are closer economically the ability to prevent China from monopolizing the world economy is greater. India, S.Korea, Sri Lanka, and most of S.E. Asia should really think whether China would provide them with a booming economy. Historically China has only provided itself with a booming economy while the rest of the surrounding countries stagnates and eventually becomes impoverished.
