Geographically speaking, where does Japan lie in the North Atlantic?

(NATO = North Atlantic Treaty Organisation)

What this article fails to mention is that Abe changed the law so his elite corporate buddies could steal more taxpayer money at home and abroad to fund the death industries.

I hear Japan has historic claims on some rocks in the Arctic Circle just on the North Atlantic

Ha, good one. Maybe they should change it to the 'Northern Hemisphere Treaty Organization'.

Lostrune2 - is that bit about a historic claim by Japan somewhere within the Arctic Circle true? (Well, being from a place closer to the Equator I am fairly ignorant about stuff up north...)

Nah, but if China can do it, what's to stop Japan, lol

I wonder why the mods doesn't stop posting of geographic location?

It really doesn't matter if Japan had entered this consortium since obviously it is not about geographic location but a joint effort to enhance and up-grade an interceptor type AAM that the US, NATO and Japan all uses. It was developed by the US but since it is operated by all three regions(nations), it's obvious that a joint consortium by all three is a logical choice in dividing the cost as well as bring together know-how for a better system. Learn a bit about it before posting empty thoughts that really makes you look ignorant for yourself.

The title should read that Abe, not Japan, wants to join the NATO missile gang.

kabukilover,

Exactly right.

The curious thing is that Abe and the ultra right wing spout nationalism on the one hand and suck up to the US of A on the other.

NPTA is Abe plan

If anyone actually read the article its all about weapons technology ad development sharing and participation. The United States and anyone concerned about China's expansionism supports it. Anyone who supports the Chinese dictatorship is against it.

This idiot PM is destroying everything Japan stands for. Pacifism, a robust economy, its all being dismantled under this guy. What's wrong with him? And what's wrong with the Japanese people for not opposing him more?

Well Aly, maybe non Japanese citizens should not be telling Japanese people what they should do, how they should be nicer, how they need more immigration, and who they need to vote for.... unlike western countries which cling to suicidal policies the Japanese do not...
