Soka Gakkai will take care of him.

Yes, Komeito should leave the LDP alone. Collaboration with the LDP is hurting your own supporters and treason to your country men. Where is your conscience? The Komeito should work with CCP to help Japan out of being an American vasal state or puppet for 80 years!

Can someone please explain the difference between the Unification Church in cahoots with the LDP and Soka Gakkai not only in cahoots with, but out and out backing Komeito?

No religion in politics!

Komeito, being part of the government, was able to introduce policies like financial support for people during the COVID-19 outbreak and, more recently, subsidies for people's power and gas bills. They prevented the LDP from changing the 5th Amendment.

Soka Gakkai is a kind of cult .

I have heard horrible stories about them.

What a rotten mess the LDP is in.

Politicians are akin to the mafia.

Wonder if they will explain this Osaka loss to Soka members the same way they cover the 'Kansai campaign' in the meetings.

That aside, Komeito is too pro-China so this is the opportune moment for LDP to ditch them.

I'll try.

Soka Gakkai are quite open about their support for Komeito. The Unification Church wasn't open about its support for certain LDP members.

Komeito do not receive money from the Soka Gakkai organization. (Most Komeito members are probably also Soka Gakkai members, but they pay the two organizations separately. But not all Soka Gakkai members vote for Komeito.)

Soka Gakkai is nothing like as weird as the Unification Church. Most Soka Gakkai members drink beer.

(Note: I'm not a Soka Gakkai member, but many of my wife's family are. They've never once pushed me to join, but they joke with me, share their beer with me, and laugh a lot.)

I agree with your comment.

No member "pays" Komeito or "Soka Gakkai". They can freely donate. Komeito has very strict rules about donations and the rules are available online. They are transparent. Soka Gakkai does not provide accounts. Probably worth more than $100 billion including properties.

It's called soft shakubuku.

Most Soka Gakkai members drink beer.

Toda liked sake though.

Many Soka Gakkai members do not drink, especially the younger ones. There are no parties and none are allowed.

Most of us here won't be signing up for that cult any time soon then - that's for sure!

Always suspicious of any type of group who preaches against alcohol (used in moderation, of course).

Fighto!

There are no alcohol bans in Soka Gakkai. Members are free to drink as they wish. But we don't gather to have drinking parties as they do in other organizations. There is no pressure to drink or not. There is no preaching. People are responsible for their own lives.

Fewer people drink these days. I stopped two years ago for my health.

And I thought I was trying my version of shakubuku on them. :-)

Again, this year I had a neighbor asking me if I could vote! Again, I said I couldn't! He then asked me if I could ask my husband to vote for Komeito! I told him there was no way in hell my husband would vote for either the LDP or Komeito! I actually felt offended that he thought we would vote for a party just because he asked!!!
