"may" ???

the statement here should've said "will" and not "may." But in my opinion, of all of the commie club members that pose a threat to Japan, it's North Korea that casts the longest shadow, they've fired a ballistic missile over Japan in the past lest we forget. The next one would most likely be Russia. The Ukraine crisis showed us how Moscow can brazenly take direct military action to defend its interests. China would come in last as despite its sabre rattling and posturing, it would think twice about waging war as it would cost it its global financial standing, Russia cares less about this, China cares a lot. These are all my opinions anyway.

Japan may might meetings thinking could be maybe let us have concession. Not sure. Ummmmm...

The assessment change would put Russia in the same category as China and North Korea. The current strategy, adopted in 2013, describes China's military buildup and activities as "an issue of concern" to the international community and North Korea's missile and nuclear development as substantially aggravating the regional threat.

exactly!

it's North Korea that casts the longest shadow,

definitely

China would come in last

how so? China is NK's master, NK is a China proxy. Tgere's only 5 communist countries left in the world, 2 are wary of China (Laos and Vietnam ), one too far away to be relevant (Cuba), that leaves NK.

China would not have provided NK with nuclear capability if there is no 'relationship'.

No need for self constraints, there’s not even a signed paper yet. While they are intensively bound in their West, the stolen islands are free for taking back as own property. They are not the Soviet Union who has invaded and taken them after war’s end, so they had to give it back already 1991 right after the end of USSR.

Legally, that is just one step below "ruffian." Then comes "clod," and then "scoundrel." One must be precise with legal terms.

@Sh1mon, China comes in last because like other major world powers, it funds and arms other countries to do its bidding instead of getting its hands dirty, which is something that would make it severely lose its face from an international perspective. And from Beijing's perspective, North Korea fits the bill perfectly - a nuclear-armed state that's not afraid to fire off warning shots every now and then. Why use the PLA when you can fund and then deny supporting the North to keep America and its allies at bay.

Label it as "opportunity" and take back Kuril islands. Much of Russian military is tied up in Ukraine:)

are you sure? Russia is using old, almost out of date weapons in Ukraine, and young inexperienced troops. Training.

you haven’t wondered why their are not using hypersonic weapons, S-550 defense systems, satellite destruction technology, hydrogen nuclear tactical weapons, intense cyber attacks, nuclear armed subs, underwater and airborne drones, biological and chemical weapons, lasers and sonic weapons?

putin is not so stupid. When I fight I use a jab. A faint. When the opponent counter attacks I use a jumping spinning wheel kick.

japan should stay away. Russia is very dangerous. The LDP/Nippon Kaigi dinosaurs still live in the last century.

we should be neutral. Work for peace and mutual trade.

"may" ???

Ain't no 'may' about it. It's a challenge, like it or not.

Last night and early this morning Russia sent a 10-ship navy fleet through the Tsugaru Strait from the Pacific to the Japan Sea.

They do use some drones. But I think everyone is wondering why they're not using serious technical capabilities

Let the situation with Russia be a lesson to anyone who is thinking to make a profit in dictatorship countries. I would suggest to anyone who has any investments in China to liquidate all their assets there. Because China will be next under global sanctions over Taiwan!
