There is no need to invite a country that cannot comply with international treaties.

.

Well said ken 1911jp

Besides J's high tech and militarily sensitive info may be 'sold' to other ' interested' nations.

SK has shown only disdain for japan in recent years-

I'll take 'News that should shock no one' for $1000, Alex...

SK would skip it anyway or expose more stupidity to the world

Good. Better than having to deal with those whiny kids crying about some Japanese flag.

Obviously the reporter did not report the funny part where SK announced at a regular morning press brief that SK Navy had decided to decline participation to the JMSDF Fleet review only to retract the announcement the same afternoon, stating they had not received an invitation from Japan and that they will consider IF they do accept an invitation.

Typical SK flip-flop reactions.

Why should Japan be dragged into a Korean civil war?

boycotting the Olympics next year.

Now which country would that be?

The two Koreas, maybe?

Nobody will miss them if they didn't come.

You've had all the opportunities to prove you had a moral upper hand

And Japan still does after all the pathetic ploys that blew in SK face time after time.

Nice move Japan. Now you enjoy zero military cooperation with your two closest Asian neighbours.

South Korea already did that.

Last year, Japan skipped an international navy review hosted by South Korea after Seoul asked Japan's navy not to hoist a "rising sun" flag — a reminder of Japanese wartime aggression to many South Koreans.

No Seoul did not single out Japan and asked all participating nations to only fly the national flag. This is actually asking for participating nations to violate international law since a ship is required to show it's flag in which JMSDF Navy ensign is the "rising sun" flag.

The HMNS ensign is not the Union Jack itself but a variant.

As a result of the hostile radar lock incident, Korea is simply not worthy to be invited. I'm liking the recent trend by the Japanese government to further distance themselves from them.

To update, it appears China has accepted the invitation.

Which never happened. Blame it on the P-1's obsolete ESM equipment for confusion on JMSDF's part.

Which did happen which Koreans admitted. Then along the lines, they kept changing their stories and at the end, chose to deny because they realized that their citizens are dumb enough to believe their ever changing stories. And it worked.

Chip Star, no one worries. Koreans and Japanese are not going to fight Chinese, there is no reason for that.

Sure there is: Chinese agression in Korean and Japanese territorial waters. Is this another lie of the CCP to which you are just now being exposed?

2 ( +7 / -5 )

Screw the niceties.

-- South Korea believes that Japan will never ever ever ever be able to atone for its transgressions in the past.

-- China believes that Japan will never ever ever ever be able to atone for its transgressions in the past.

So....

-- If nothing Japan is ever good enough for the Koreans or Chinese, why bother?!

The logical conclusion?

-- We are done. The past is the past. We are done atoning for it / apologizing for it / remunerating for it.

-- If you want to take action accordingly, feel free to do so.

-- But don't blame us if we take retaliatory action accordingly.

And that is the end of it.

OMG.

Don't worry, when the time comes for South Korea and Japan to work together to fight off the communist Chinese, they'll get it done.

@Akie

Japanese and Koreans are more like ‘cousins’-the family spat will get mended soon....

Just don't cry when countries start boycotting the Olympics next year. You've had all the opportunities to prove you had a moral upper hand. Question, how's this going to play into changing the constitution article 9? You still have time. Invite through the back door. BTW, you also gave the emperor celebrations to think about.

Some Japanese flag that represents rape, pillaging, and oppression of your people. Nice attempt to minimize the issue.

@old man - Imagine actually applauding diminished military cooperation with your neighbouring country, out of spite..

Bravo Shinjo-kun.
