Another excuse for Russia to handover those disputed territory to Japan.

There are many concern before, it can be used for US-Japan military based, now it can be used for toxic material dump site?

Sounds like a good idea. Deliver it by air tomorrow.

Well, it's good to know they view the pristine islands up there as a radioactive dump. Speaks volumes.

Also important to observe the Kuril Islands are UN-recognized, sovereign territory of the Russian Federation. Here is that organization's map to refresh one's memory:

https://www.un.org/geospatial/content/russian-federation

The last paragraph omits a few key points:

Firstly, the USSR was legally awarded them at the Yalta Conference in signed agreement with the Allies (including the US/UK).

Secondly, the islands were administered by the Empire of Japan, a member of the Axis Alliance - and forfeited as such.

Thirdly, they have never been part of postwar constitutional Japan, which only emerged in 1951 (and a UN member from 1956).

Fourthly, the Allies deemed them non-home islands, which Tokyo lost all.

Lastly any air drops will be returned to sender.

They're hardly pristine, being occupied by accused war criminal Putin.

Japan can make them pristine again once Putin's war of conquest and vanity has caused so much damage to Russia that he is forced to withdraw, just like he is currently doing in Syria.

as a radioactive dump.

Japan is not planning to "dump" anything, either in Hokkaido or elsewhere. It is planning a proper final disposal site in line with international practices.

It's much better than Russia dumping an entire nuclear submarine into the Sea of Japan.

China and Korea make a fuss about Japan's treated water, but they don't make a fuss about Russia.

It's strange, isn't it?

Just because it is on your wall, doesn't mean it is actually UN recognized. There are several other maps on that site that highlight russia's disgraces for you.

The last paragraph omits a few key points:

Firstly, the USSR was legally awarded them at the Yalta Conference in signed agreement with the Allies (including the US/UK).

Of which Japan in any form was not a part.

Secondly, the islands were administered by the Empire of Japan, a member of the Axis Alliance - and forfeited as such.

Only the russian believes in booty from war.

Thirdly, they have never been part of postwar constitutional Japan, which only emerged in 1951 (and a UN member from 1956).

Only the russian believes in canceling agreements on changes in government despite their own violent coup in 1993.

Fourthly, the Allies deemed them non-home islands, which Tokyo lost all.

The unequal treaties still say the allies had the discretion to not disgrace themselves. Only the russian decided disgrace was their middle name.

Lastly any air drops will be returned to sender.

At this point russia probably couldn't manage it.

What's this I see on the bottom of your poster?

The boundaries and names shown and the designations used on this map do not imply official endorsement or acceptance by the United Nations.

Being under the impression that the empire should have been at the table is a misguided notion at best.

Also important to observe that entity lost booty to other Allied comrades too, as did their alliance partners.

Germany was abused by the scofflaw state and that also should have been prevented. The territories ceded by Japan to the US were with full UN approval and had only been Japanese since the end of WW1.

Now that's an original take. Germany was 'abused' by another European state during WWII. Interesting to note Berlin doesn't subscribe to that version of events... hmmm.

Because they, unlike other quarters, have long learned to decently accept the obvious consequences.

Only because you abused them into not having a sense of pride anymore.

Because they, unlike other quarters, have long learned to decently accept the obvious consequences.

Nope just unable to call a fascist a fascist, which is what russia is.
