Waste of money. Both Russia, and especially China can destroy any $900 million satellite, in 43 seconds with layers, cyberattacks or supersonic weapons. Supersonic missiles may cost $10m, but lasers cost about $30000 per minute and cyberattacks almost free.
US led NATO loves a war of attrition as the military industry complex gets so so rich.

Philippines? Space? It’d be a better use of the money for the for the Philippines to help lift their own people out of poverty… but then the Japanese government wouldn’t be able to exploit them for cheap labor in nursing, IT, factories and assistant English teachers.
