Philippines is doing the next best thing which is to build a strong enough deterrent to stop further incursions. While at the same time, the world will legitimize Philippines claim over China's since the latter is so reluctant to present evidence otherwise. China could be seen then not so different from Russia in Crimea. In case of conflict, China placed assets very close to U.S. ones. Guess which ones will get taken out first?.

Japan has good relationship with the Philippines government and such move from the commies just make Nippo-Filipino stronger.

The Hotmail user in the last thread said that Filipinos hold grudge against Japan.

Things seem like they're going toward a undesirable direction.

Good. Looks like the Philippines, Japan, USA and Vietnam are expressedly committed to oppose PRC in the Western Philippine Sea (South China Sea ).

China's actions are so in-your-face it's not funny. If Vietnam or The Philippines or Brunei built an airstrip on a reef offshore, I'm sure China would allow it.....not. I really hope the ASEAN group band together and push China to stop her aggressive posturing.

Japanese arms dealers are glad to have finally found excuses and glad to have finally been able to get a PM to ram legal changes through.

If the Philippines cannot afford to pay the full price for these weapons, we taxpayers will.

And I still insist the Chinese don't have the navy or the martial skill to really do anything serious about their island claims and still hardly any shots have been fired.

So lets just wipe our posteriors with Article 9 and see how much further into debt Japan can get.>

Wow! Really? You are that far behind current events? I am seriously in awe here. You just really do not get it do you? or is it just faked ignorance to further your agenda?

crazyjoe assets will affect usa not china. china has the people to do the work and the have the technology. usa has technology but not enough ppl to balance their industrialization capacity. oh and btw if u read the news yesterday, un said that china claims on islands is "legal" because it was a land about sea level, had no people living on it and its not a stable country that they are taking water control on. so crimea is surely a different one, nevermind the democracy the people of crimea had is fine.
