I see. Oil.

PM Kishida is going to be shaking hands with a murderer that cuts up opponents whilst alive-has he no shame?

0 ( +13 / -13 )

Kishida is a ,tone deaf and clueless to the world,do everything to curry favor

1 ( +12 / -11 )

Dear Japan..

Please switch to green energies soon and stop depending on the medieval damn oil..

You would have much more money to resolve all your problems and invest in the well-being of your people..

Where are all the solar panels on factories, stadiums, houses and apartment blocks?

The complete lack of political foresight in Japan is remarkable…

6 ( +14 / -8 )

Kishida...a fossil interested in obtaining more fossil fuels.

10 ( +17 / -7 )

Oil is about 40% of all energy imports. Not much oil is used for power generation. Oil is used for transport and industry.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

well Fumio there is no problem to get cheap oil from Russia and as much as you want but yes since your role is one of US poodle you have no choice just beg for cheap oil from wahhabists in Saudi Arabia and still play big buy on front of Russians.

just one question-how about to take care of house issues first?say help to people affected by covid with cash handouts, support young families with children having bad times or take proper care about moonies and tell us all clear true?

Does not change the need for oil. Until the majority of cars and trucks are replaced with none fossil fuel types.

Japan should go back to Nuclear power.

-2 ( +11 / -13 )

I see. Oil.

So did Biden. Biden saw $8.00 a gallon gas and one term as President.

3 ( +10 / -7 )

Nuclear power does not fit into cars, buses, trucks, or ships.....

-3 ( +4 / -7 )

Japan imports 3.6% of its crude oil from Russia and 8.8% of its gas.

Japan's Russian crude oil imports fall to zero in June

They need alternatives.

2 ( +6 / -4 )

More nuclear power, please.

-8 ( +4 / -12 )

Yeh seems like now Biden has visited the dictator/murderer,every other head of state is lining up! What moral integrity these politicians have....NOT

2 ( +7 / -5 )

He could go to Qatar and the Emirates and not bother going to Saudi Arabia.

I doubt they would agree to anything more than Biden got.

Qatar’s main export is LNG and that’s what Japan uses quite a bit of.

2 ( +4 / -2 )

Qatar is the world's largest exporters of natural gas and the world's largest emissions of carbon dioxide per capita.

At least women are treated with more respect.

But militarily their alignment with Iran and turkey and then USA and France and the UK is a concern.

The invasion of Iraq was staged mostly from Qatar.

But also extremist are there

-1 ( +3 / -4 )

At least women are treated with more respect.

They make up for that by beating 3rd World Country Nationals that are contracted to work there.

If you film a Qatari abusing one of these people, you can find yourself instantly being deported

Suddenly after G7 his boots got so big.

fossil fool????

@wallace

For sure but there isn’t even a glimmer of light towards finding alternatives.

The country needs to maximize renewables and could be doing much better on that.

But what are your suggestions for replacing oil for vehicles? More EVs, more hybrids, more hydrogen, and ammonia. But that is not going to happen overnight nor in the next 20 years.

I meant Qatar treat women better than the saudi or UAE treat their women.

I've been to saudi thrice in the 80's and it's not pleasant to say the least

-1 ( +2 / -3 )

WA4TG

crude is more affordable in saudi but saudi has a price cap agreement with Russia

-2 ( +0 / -2 )

I meant Qatar treat women better than the saudi or UAE treat their women.

Having lived/worked and visited each of the three, I think they eaach share cultural and religious similarities. The UAE is more willing than Saudi or Qatar to accept women having roles beyond the historical Gulf Arab roles. Qatar more so than Saudi. The UAE and Qatar have educated large numbers of women in an array of fields including science and engineering, many going abroad to get advanced degrees. Many women have management roles in gas and oil industries, especially those with 'wasta', i.e connections to powerful people, some women in Qatar and the UAE have started successful businesses.

Qatar is a Muslim-majority country with Islam as the state religion. Salafi version of Islam is the state sponsored brand of Sunni Islam in the country, making Qatar one of the two Salafi states in the Muslim world, along with Saudi Arabia.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islam_in_Qatar

Not so smart to get intentionally involved in conflicts of other far away continents or substituting a warmongering Putin by handshaking with a chainsaw killer and equally not much democratic Islamists. With a little smartness and backbones he just only would buy the now cheap third party BRICS oil and step as replacement into the big vacant percentage of now free Shell and Exxon shares of Sakhalin2 gas fields, and easily done without too much costs, publicity and future problems.

Ptownsend

I agree absolutely

The Arab kingdom doesn't cares the concern from Japan. They just put their attention over Russia and China. In fact Prince M.B.S. despise Biden and his little pet Japan!

-1 ( +1 / -2 )

M.B.S does love the Bush family though.

kishida should be more focused on finding alternatives to Saudi oil. Any minute Israel will attack Iran and zero oil will come from Saudi for at least a year. My I suggest Russia as an alternative?

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Everyone once again wants to be Friends again with those in the Middle East - all because of the need for Oil. And as such a blind eye, is turned towards the less attractive sides shown by those Countries.

Russia's invasion of Ukraine has sent energy and raw material prices soaring amid supply concerns, sparking inflation in many parts of the world.

Not correct.

It is the western sanctions that have created supply concerns. Misguided western nations saying they are going to buy oil and gas, BUT not Russian oil and gas sends the price of oil and gas skywards.

Russia is still happy to sell you all you need.

0 ( +0 / -0 )

Saudis are buying discount oil from Russia,as strange as it sounds, they are Google Saudis Purchasing Discount Russian Oil
