"New capitalism" was pure Abenomics trickle down corporatism. Case in point: The pandemic response.
Other nations had enhanced unemployment payments, paid furloughs and recurring stimulus payments to many contract workers hit by the pandemic. Not Japan under the LDP. Stimulus was a massive wealth transfer to businesses for some small restrictions on their operations.
"New capitalism" was deliberately vague as it was the same old corporatism, but as usual the public would pay for it.
In Kishida's defense , this would be the same for any LDP suit.

.
Fumio Kishida was born in Shibuya;Tokyo making Tokyo his hometown NOT Hiroshima.

It's a new capitalist, no job position is safe.

Being able to read something and then comprehending what was read, are two different things.
Nowhere does it state he was from Hiroshima,
Look up the word "scion" . It should be the "word" of the day today, so others dont make the same mistake!

Kishida "touted" all sorts of things, and the lapdog media slurped it up. He is given credit for playing follow the leader with Ukraine, and his "laws" about women in boardrooms is a joke.
He is just one in a long list of Japanese PM's that were failures at their job.
Like so many others, he is a "leader" in name only.
And like the line from one of my favorite movies "And so it begins" the revolving door PM's once again!

still missing one where we will read how much this guy have spent from our taxes for his frequent overseas trips and what it was REAL OUTCOME or say real results of his work.
so far I did not find anything noticeable how this guy have made live of japanese taxpayers better and have improved our lives and economy.

Another one bites the dust...and then they'll vote in another lame clown, and when they can't stand the heat, they'll be gone too, ad nauseam.

Failing at convincing his party to reform is not the same as failing the people. If anything, it will get worse, much worse if the whiteanters grab power left by Kishida.
IMHO, Kishida has been highly effective at managing domestic and international government business, so Japan will be the ultimate looser if the whiteanters win and Kishida is replaced with the likes of serial bumbler, friend of China Kono.
Young Kouzumi has proven himself as effective at most responsibilities lobbed at him, but why is party power brokers dismissing him? Answer - they are chained to the trough, political donation slush fund is just the tip of the iceberg...

Mr. Kishida would make a very good Foreign Minister. I hope he continues to serve within the government .

Kishida is unpopular warmonger. Japanese are angry at Kishida spending on military.
Kishida is fail PM statesman and will join other fail PM statesman from before him Kan (dingus) Noda (doofus) and Suga (dinglebelly)

according to Tokyo broadcasting, PM Kishida had already told resignation from PM to US government through close aide last weekend earlier than announce to Japanese public.
Japanese PM seem to have to value US than Japanese public despite Japanese PM.

But we got those masks from Abe's friends. They're worth a lot aren't they?

My business got some support during Covid, as did my family. We upgraded the windows of our house last year thanks to a very large subsidy that I recommend everyone use, and our house is now cooler in summer and warmer in winter. We'll get loads more child benefit from October this year, when it gets extended to kids in senior high and the payment is tripled for third and later children. A policy for subsidizing university for third and later children has also been announced but the details are still unclear and the age gap between our kids probably means we won't get anything.
To be clear, I don't like the LDP and I especially hate the brand of militarism/nationalism they promote. However, I cannot say the government do nothing for me or my community because that would be sensationalist and untrue. That is on top of stuff that people take for granted, like a functioning health system, roads without huge potholes, and beaches without turds floating in the water. I cannot say how much of this is down to Kishida himself, but suspect it is very little.

It wouldn’t matter if he got found with child porn on his computer, no one is going to vote out the LDP anyway

Kishida is yet another in a long line of lap dogs for the puppet master, the RS of the USA. Change the party for goodness sake.

How was Kishida EVER a safe pair of hands? It has been one huge black comedy of errors!

I agree with most of my fellow JT readers commenting on this Kishida news since yesterday but apparently, judging by the downvotes on certain comments, some people choose to bury their heads in the sand.

And it's really the LDP that's the big problem. Doesn't matter if the next PM is better if they're still in power.
