It would be great if Japan could focus off of China economically but there are so many companies in China, it would be better to help them leave

Good for Japan.

There are 660 million people in the booming ASEAN bloc. This will be a hugely wealthy region in the future. Highly educated, peaceful and Japan-loving citizens. Cheaper labor than China. Japan would be a wise to divest all interests in Communist China, and shift to ASEAN.

Yeah sure,China is shaking in his boots with the combined mighty of this ASEAN.

It needs more than that to contain the big giant.

Japan has been investing heavily in Vietnam, Indonesia and Philippines these past few years. They used to be so "boxed" with pouring their investments to Thailand and Malaysia only. At least they have started to open their eyes and realize that ASEAN is composed of other countries too!

When they use the word vow, you know that sweet FA is going to get done.

Good:

ASEAN and Japan share many common interests.

You mean, political dynasties and nepotism. Oh look, Japan is quite close to the Philippines where Bongbong is lurking.

ASEAN: Show me the money.

China: Right away!

Japan: does not have money**
