He's gonna fire everyone complicit, then resign without benefits, so Japan can try this whole democracy thing from scratch one more time?

Where's Kishida going to pull this public trust out from?

Kishida says he will act to restore trust amid fundraising scandal

Is there any trust n the LDP to restore?

The majority of working Japanese know they are self-aggrandizing leeches.

The ones who support them , corporate cronies and subsidized support demographics, benefit from and accept their dishonesty.

And so it goes....

Corrupt as they come.

The LDP will have to fall before Japan gets a new dawn.

The Japanese people are what makes Japan so great with their work ethic and expertise, but at the same time they are the very same people that let Japan down so regularly with their automatic voting of corrupt, silver-spooned politicians with no vision for the future who live off the gravy train.

Until the next time that someone gets caught.

Then the usual claim of a misunderstanding, apology, reflect on misdeeds, vow to improve, token pay cut, mock resignation, rinse and repeat ad infinitum...

Embattled Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida pledged on Monday to take steps to restore trust in his government amid reports he is planning to purge cabinet ministers embroiled in a fundraising scandal that has dealt a fresh blow to his public support.

Satire?

Prime Minister Fumio Kishida pledged on Monday to take steps to restore trust in his government

Judging by his actions about previous scandals probably he mean backward steps.

Good luck with that my friend.

Take your time, no hush no hurry. The entire nation everyone has stopped to wait for your final decision. As long as it takes just like the past 30 years if staging!

He will do a deep bow and say “sorry”

but he really means is “sorry we got caught”

and “restore trust” means we “will endeavor to not get caught again.”

everyone knows every single one of them is corrupt as can be.

Way too late. Don’t let the door hit you on the way out.

I thought Mr. Kishida would have been gone by Monday Morning!? but then I read the news that he is going to do his UPMOST to not leave office and blame everyone else!?

Here we go again.

Yet another cabinet shuffle typical LDP shell game, always the same results, because they were corrupt from their inception and installation by Uncle Sam.

Present Japan's deceptive PM intends to make scandals look small as if it's issue of only one of factions despite whole LDP corrupted.

Kishida:born in Tokyo and corrupted in Tokyo!

It seems that a PM in Japan lasts about 2 years until something like this pops up, public support dwindles, and a new PM comes in.

Wash, rinse, repeat.

Ah, promise of results in perception, rather than perception of results. Next level indeed.

Kishida says he will act to restore trust

sorry, when did he ever have anyone’s trust? Did I miss that?

maybe try to earn the trust, for the very first time, instead?

he is planning to purge cabinet ministers

yeah……..maybe I’ll believe when I see Aso get the axe……..maybe. Until then, it’s the same old ish, different day.

Japan is currently inept. Politics going nowhere, a backward legal system, and failed policies. But the biggest problem seems to be corruption and nobody in Japan seems to be able to do a thing about it. I have to ask the question "Do the majority of people in Japan really want things to change"? Change is a dirty word in Japan and questioning the status quo is almost a crime.

The scandal looks like a Hoodini trick: You think he cannot do it and then there he goes. The LDP is a virus of Hoodinis.
