What? No trip in camo to boost his flagging ratings? Kishida San, a wasted opportunity.

That's Zelenskyy's schtick. Nobody's allowed to upstage him.

Good for Japan.

Japan will do as much as she can under her Constitution to help Ukraine defend their sovereign nation from fascist, land-stealing Russian invaders - the modern day Nazi Germans.

Zelensky in Ukraine needs all the help all nations on earth can give!

-7 ( +14 / -21 )

So he does know how to use a phone.

-5 ( +16 / -21 )

Using the telephone is regressive. I zoom and do video conferences. That's the way to do it.

Hello mate

Hello

What do you want to chat about?

Give me more money and things I like.

Ok

-10 ( +18 / -28 )

Russians on here big mad.

Zelensky, you ol’ schlag!

It’s the Kishi-meister general.

’ow are ya?

I’m seein’ ya next week, aren’t I?

For me sins!

How about helping Zelenskyy with a strategy to accomplish a ceasefire and an end to the ridiculous conflict.

Because the ceasefire comes AFTER Ukraine regains its coastline from the terrorists at a minimum. Also Russia is going to have to swallow HIMARS and NATO artillery all over the front line.

Russians on here big mad.

Is it possible not to cheerlead for either side? Both Zelenskyy and Putin are crooks of the highest order. Putin just has a bigger military at his disposal. Zelenskyy has a better PR team.

I feel sorry for the Ukrainians and Russians for having such scumbags for leaders.

Well put, sadly most are blind to the truth, you see.

At the start of the invasion I was in support of kicking Russia out and liberating every inch of occupied Ukraine, but now I am beginning to think this can't go on like this, and their must be a negotiating solution. People on both sides are suffering and Putin could care less.

Did Zelensky order an invasion of another country and is killing civilians?

Talk about putting the cart before the horse.

The conflict is still raging.

0 ( +6 / -6 )

Kishida all he cares is about making money to reconstruction of flattened Ukraine and the war is no where near an end. Don’t poke the Russian bear

Did Zelensky order an invasion of another country and is killing civilians?

No, and maybe. The guy is up to his eyeballs in corruption, but it's hard to say if he's been involved in killing civilians. But governments in that part of the world aren't known for tolerating opponents, and Zelenskyy's mob weren't exactly paragons of virtue before the Russias rolled in but he has a great PR team behind him. The camo works like a charm.

Burning Bush

Zoom and Tik Tok are Chinese apps, so there is no security at all. WhatsApp is perhaps the safest as it is encrypted.

Noted. Thank you for your advice.

-3 ( +3 / -6 )

Santiago-San yes he did, in fact there were many crimes and lynch mobs against the Russian majority (!) in the eastern regions. But our media doesn’t report this - it’s mare Russian propaganda.

Also the “unprovoked” invasion of civilian territory is factually complete wrong. There it was basically a war zone with Ukraine building up a massive force with billions of US and EU cash. It is not “Putin’s war” but a full scale proxy war between NATO and Russia.

This conflict is caused by (deeply corrupt) 2 parties and both of them have approximately the same fault and responsibility. If someone believes only Putin is the devil, get your facts right and stop believing blindly what the BBC is saying.

Kishida to hold phone talks with Zelenskyy

Wait, why?

How does a phone call use up tax payers money?

Maybe before smartphones, yes. But not in 2023.

Why is Kishida not wasting tax payers money to fly out to Ukraine for this?

Isn't that what he is good at?

Wasting time and tax payer's money?

Awesome use of time and resources. Please send the “defensive” weapons Japan is so proud to have, but somehow do not violate Article 9. Legal fictions are things of beauty.

The great theatre performance continues.

Arrangements are also being made to hold a conference on Ukraine's reconstruction in Japan early next year.

Isn’t this putting the cart before the horse?

Russian were never gonna lose this war, when they had 10 of thousands Ukraine Russian agent on Ukraine payroll

So cool! I wonder which corporate entities will end up getting the Ukraine reconstruction contracts. Mitsubishi? Hitachi? Sumitomo? Daiwa?

Hopefully all of them - and more. Once Ukraine has been liberated from the fascist invading Russians, it will be a big rebuild - of schools, apartment buildings, hospitals and infrastructure. All the places the cowardly Russians are targeting.

Luckily for Ukraine, the free world - including Japan - will be there with them.

Meanwhile, fascist Russia has their great "friends" to rely on - Belarus, Commie China and North Korea.

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

why...

Just stay out of it, has nothing to do with Japan

Yeh, as well as Brazil, India, South Africa, potentially Saudi Arabia, and a whole host of African countries in the near future. That's the actual trajectory of geopolitics. Not the feel good nonsense you are trying to convince yourself of by posting the same three to four comments on repeat.

Ukraine is a democracy and Putin can't stand it. The world must continue to send an unequivocal message of support for Ukraine and yes Taiwan. Those who live in unoccupied countries have the luxury of being able to voice cynicism, they're time isn't taken up dodging missile strikes and they have electricity and internet connections. Glory to Ukraine!

-1 ( +7 / -8 )

Well put, sadly most are blind to the truth, you see.

How many experts on the truth gathered today :) Experts, none of whom have ever seen a single Russian or a single Ukrainian in their lives. What is the truth, bro? Maybe it's better to leave them alone, let them figure it out for themselves. You have calmly endured the bombing of Iraq and Yugoslavia. Napalm in Vietnam has already been completely forgotten. The champions of the truth xrenovy

The countries you mentioned aren't giving Russia anything except at market prices.

Zelensky is rubbish, but Putin is far worse

-5 ( +1 / -6 )

Well said @Leo

Japan is the international busybody. So irritating on the political stage as they don't actually do anything and hide behind America.

3 ( +7 / -4 )

I bet Zelenskyy can't wait to get Fumio's first "perfect" phone-call. He'll have a long list of wants ready for the Japanese PM.
