Nobody takes the Japanese government seriously,wonder why the majority of Japanese feel defenseless

There is NOTHING to fear but fear itself and besides, what exactly does Japan have that China wants?
China has PLENTY of time for Japanese demographic time bombs, so absolutely no need to be hasty, there only real concern is the rise of the AI robots here!

@Clay
The Senkakus, a route through the First Island Chain, a successful democracy on China's doorstep, strong alliances with other democracies across the world, rhetorical and practical support for Taiwan, excellent relations with South and South-east Asian nations in China's immediate vicinity. How long have you got?
China should worry about its own demographic time bomb first - one that was largely caused by CCP policies. It's going to be far more unpleasant than Japan's:

For some, it seems just too hard to accept that many nations individually determine that China is a threat to stability and security. They love to appropriate the blame all on America.
China is not trusted by a lot of nations. Most find it hostile, manipulative, belligerent and dishonest. It has a few scattered "friends" who share a deep hatred for the west, Europe and America.
Japan has its own domestic concerns about China that worry it greatly, not least is its designs on taking the Senkaku islands and the desire to subjugate Taiwan and dominate the region. China's unending military buildup that gives it the impression that being so mighty it should always get its way with other nations deferring to Chinese will. China is no friendly nation but a wolf in tattered sheep's clothing (made in China no doubt).
Time you and China accept its status in the world as a bad global citizen stirring up trouble with almost every neighbor and most nations in its region.
Japan has zero trust in China and will keep a sharp eye on China's actions into the future.

Every nation takes the G7 Presidency nation and 3rd largest economy in the world seriously. Both friends and enemies alike. And the majority of Japanese do not feel defenseless. I recommend therapy.

It was defined as "Strategic Challenge" was because Japan knew she is no where to challenge Chinese military after the great leap forward in the past 30 years. Japan was in stagnation in the same time frame due to the woes caused byJapan's ruling party.
