Japan strongly protested Chinese vessels' repeated intrusions into its waters near the Senkaku Islands in the East China Sea at their senior diplomats' videoconference on Wednesday, the Japanese Foreign Ministry said.

China doesn't listen. Build an outpost and residence in the Senkaku. Let ordinary people freely land the islands.

Time for USN/JMSDF to conduct routine livefire drills around the Senkakus.

Increase patrols in the water and board any boats that come into the territory. China isn't going to listen otherwise.

How many noticed that for the first time ever, the de-facto Taiwanese ambassador to the US, Hsiao Bi-khim, attended Mr. Biden's inauguration at his request. I think that says volumes about where US interests lie, especially knowing how this will enrage the Chinese.

China is putting a small test to Biden to see if he will support America's allies or do nothing.

Stop protesting and build up the Japanese Navy to kick Chinese butt.

Japan should perhaps establish their own maritime militia, fishing boats with well trained crew members armed with small arms and grenade launchers to run off vessels that intrude into Japanese waters or which harass Japanese fishing boats inside our outside of Japan's EEZ. Make it dangerous for the Chinese to play rough.

The Japanese probably also ought to look at adding a couple of large coast guard cutters able to carry up to three helicopters to deploy to the region. Maybe overhaul recommission as Coast Guard ships the best of the old JMSDF DDHs if they are not yet scrapped and use those to patrol the area.

Xi Jing Ping lied to Obama when he declared that China would not militarize the South China Sea. It was under Obama, with Biden as VP, that the U.S. implemented the Pivot to Asia to counter China's territorial aggression. Fast forward to 2020, the U.S, postiton towards China is bipartisan. China can expect the same or more from the Biden administration.

Better call Biden.

Japan should construct Air Defense sites & radar in the Islands and place anti-ship missiles there as well. Additionally Japan should offer tours to those interested to show the history of Japanese use of the Islands. There are ruins of a small old fishing dock and old shelter there.

Just after WW II, the area was a Bombing practice range. Those ranges could be reopened and jointly run by the US and Japan for Bilateral "ship attack" practice runs, and practice of ship-to-shore coordination of joint air and ground target acquisition and hand-over. Surrounding waters could also be managed in such a way that anti-submarine devices could be placed in certain areas to warn of subsurface activity.

Lots of things could be done passively like this without directly confronting China. Just as they have done.

China is displaying its zeal in the region with the strength of its economic and military power and asserting its illegitimate rights over the Senkaku Islands. The time has come for Japan to begin upgrading its military and to be prepared to respond to China. The Communist Party of China has often shown such acts throughout the region to hide its failures. China is now rising the border conflict with India, Taiwan and Japan during the Corona period, due to increasing discontent among the general public due to unemployment and poverty in China, so that the growing dissatisfaction among the citizens can be suppressed in the name of nationalism. To curb this dissatisfaction, China may also take military action. India, Japan and Taiwan should, therefore, be careful. In particular, Japan should be careful in the case of its Senkaku Islands, so that a strong response can be given to any Chinese misadventure when the time comes.

Biden will likely sell this out to China in exchange for the foreign freedom to acquire financial businesses in China, Taiwan’s independence and peace in the South China Sea.

China only needs a way to the open seas. Selling out the Senkaku islands will be the first step, so China can begin to acquire Ishigaki island chains as well. The USA has a habit of betraying its ally when it outlives usefulness for Americans. South Vietnam is the best example of such as the USA allowed China to take over Paracel Islands.

Negative people see everything negatively.

And an un-democratic suppressive regime known as the CCP wishes the world would just ignore their illegal invasions into other country's territories and other shady business. Chirping with your CCP propaganda only proves that hypocritical two faced mentality that the CCP tries to spread. Lying with the mouth while showing the truth with their ACTIONS. The world just isn't going to turn a blind eye to it's behavior like the CCP thinks it will.

What's happening the Japan-China hotline? It's been agreed upon, a couple years ago.

Maybe someone's got the wrong land line phone number.

I've had a few calls lately, where no one replies.

Will continue til the end of time

No US politician dares sell out either Japan or China. Mr. Biden calls Xi Jinping a thug. The Obama administration had good relations with Hu Jintao but not with Xi Jinping. With Hu there were experiments with elections in smaller towns and talk of allowing private land ownership. But not too long after Xi came to power the talk was of the Pivot to the Pacific and many weapons just now coming on line entered development in response to the threats from Xi.

A border problem is a very delicate one.

China claims the Senkaku Islands, called the Diaoyudaos in China, have been an integral part of China since ancient times. Japan stole them when China was weak, they say.

If that was true, China had every right to act as they were doing, sending its coast guard ships to the waters there to safeguard its sovereign territory.

There's a lot of room to doubt and dispute China's claim, though. I therefore suggest a conference or symposium be held either at an official or civilian level to further our understanding of the problem. This territorial bickering must be stopped before it goes beyond anyone's control.

China will only get bolder they will go even harder after Taiwan and they will continue to go into the Senkakus because they know Biden is a softy freeze!

"so China can begin to acquire Ishigaki island chains as well. "

They will.

With "no impunity"

Simples.

Now Joey B is in the White House this will be much more common.

Japan needs to protect itself and get out from under US colonialism.

Just recognize the dispute and move on. Be positive.
