Japan is terrified of becoming a poor country once the war in Taiwan breaks out. The US will force Japan to intervene on behalf of Taiwan, and China will retaliate economically by enacting an economic embargo against Japan including the blockade of Taiwan straight that will certainly raise the prices of import shipping to Japan overnight. Weak Yen has already made situations worse for importing.

Any non-white country that dares to become economically strong will be knocked down. It just so happens it's China's turn.

Nope. Absolutely nothing to do with being 'non-white' and all China are doing is giving non-white nations a very bad name.

In fact fellow Chinese Muslims, Hong Kong nationals, and neighbouring Asian nations are the biggest non-white victims of non-white China.

@OssanAmerica you seem to be arguing a point that does not exist. Japan's Bubble burst in 1992. I lived in Japan for four years after that in the 1990s. The economy stumbled along after that with some years of low growth, others of negative growth.

Yes the 1980s bubble was over in the 1990s. But Japan still remained the 2nd largest economy in the world until 2010.

In 2008 China hosted the summer olympics. In 2007 the public toilets in Beijing were still holes dug into the ground.

China's economy did not rise as soon as you seem to think. And it sure didn't do it all by itself. In 1978 Deng Xiap Ping visited Japan and begged Konosyke Matsushita to open a Panmasonioc factory in China, the first electronics factory in the country.

I'm not sure you want to count the 1990s @OssanAmerica. Japan's Bubble Economy burst in and of itself through sheer hubris and mismanagement. 

The 1990s counts son. China (PRC) did not even start to improve economically until the US under the Clinton Administration (1996) supported and pushed for China to be accepted by the WTO, and that was not until 2001.

Dreaming of the past? The world goes on and what HAS been is no indication of what will be in future. The whole world is rapidly changing and those who do not want to see or know about it will have an uncomfortable awakening.

The Chinese economy has been driving economic growth in the region ever since providing Japan and other regional economies investment opportunity and export market opportunities.

Yes, a fantasy world. Japan has been in China's orbit for 1,500+ years. Neither country are going anywhere. Both nations prosper when they are at peace and suffer when there is war.

War is rarely the answer.

That ship has sailed. Two things which China doesn't like - countries playing both sides like happobijin, and countries without a spine and which let others dictate their foreign policies.

So "peaceful" that they have currently surrounded Taiwan and are firing missiles over Taiwan just because they are unhappy that a US politician visited. Their ambassador to France wants to re-educate the Taiwanese people after they have invaded. Is this your idea of benefitting the Asia region?

Every single missile fired by that military dictatorship and every single comment about re-education is making the rest of Asia wake up and see exactly what they have on their doorstep.

Chinese public have a strong desire for war, especially with Japan. CCP simply responding to that public pressure. The fact is Chinese public would never accept peace with neighboring countries without subjugation

I simply do not want to see Cold War Round 2. All parties need to chill out and find solutions. The last thing we want is to pressure China into moving closer to Russia.

Look at a map. Japan is in a dangerous neighborhood as it is. Always seek peace, but most especially on August 6.

I am hopping that Japan and China will come to their senses and realize that their people deserve better. Conflicts will drain both nations and cause harm and hard times, Peace and prosperity are the best choice.

There are millions of Chinese with their families here now. Culturally assimilated. Japan owes so much to China. All cheap goods Made in China, neatly packed flooding markets, growing trade. Moreover, NHK is 100% pro-China (look at the way they interpret the news) so also most of locals here. US is an enemy nation by the kanji itself, right from root...Nobody will wonder if US gets back-stabbed in favor of China if - God forsake doesnt- a real conflict arises. US better guard their bases and guard Taiwan....
