Oh shock, Ozawa forming yet another party...

Ozawa, do the public a favour and quit politics. And take that goody Hatoyama with you!

known as the “Destroyer”

Funny, I thought he was the "shadow shogun". This one is new. And well suited considering all the messes he creates.

One cannot stop is politics and thievery.

This one, can be enough to obliverate the industrialised monarchy

but you know what? compared to ishihara and hashimoto, ozawa is a saint. he's not nationalistic, and his policies are in line with middle class needs. i don't agree with all of his policies but most of them make sense.

Indeed Rcikylee. isn't it sad that that is the case?

Selfish control freaks the whole lot of them.... They only care about status and power - NOTHING ELSE.

1 ( +2 / -1 )

can you just do that? wow.

Anyway, its just as the article says: another headache

Ozawa is the best politician money can buy.

Ozawa and his dudes quit the DPJ for good reason

The DPJ promised not to raise the consumpn tax when they came to power in '09.

When the Noda administration voted to raise the tax, they BROKE that promise!

At least Ozawa still puts the PEOPLE first!

Will this be the new new new people's party? Shin shin shin min to?

Hope it is something rather more memorable....

Too many parties and too many chiefs in Japan. No party has a majority. I believe the political system is broken, and total political reform is needed.

"Go ahead! Vote third party! Throw your vote away!"

At least Ozawa still puts the PEOPLE first!

I think this should read, "Ozawa put's himself first" Then his bank account second, his disciples third, his family 4th, his belly 5th, and then maybe, just maybe the people 6th or 7th.

Wait, I forgot, his constituency comes before the people, because they are the only ones he has to worry about in staying elected.

I have said this before here: A few hundred years ago people like Hatoyama would have committed Sepuku for what they did (if this whole thing about Sepuku isn`t a myth of the famed Japanese history books anyway :-)))

RickyVee: I KIND of agree with your statement that Ozawa is a lot better than Ishihara and Hashimoto in many respects, but not sure about the 'saint' part. My main problem with him, his corruption aside, is he himself does not live up to the promises he makes, and the promises made to sweep the DPJ into power were ridiculous ones to begin with, and impossible to implement, but he blames Kan and Noda for breaking them. I like that he's standing up on the tax issue, but would he still be if he were in the PM's shoes (which I'm quite sure he wants to be).

The DPJ is not big difference like the LDP who were both 'puppets' of uncle sam! What japan needs is a leader who has spine and guts to bring back the soul of Japan and get rid of the political heroin addictions imported from America! Mr Ozawa, Japan needs you, lets roll!

At least Ozawa still puts the PEOPLE first!

Was he putting them first when he bailed just after 3/11 and cried all the way to Osaka? You might want to read up on his divorce and see what his ex-wife has to say about him putting the public first.

"Destroyer" You do it again!....It's coming back at you!

Japan needs many many more smaller party to lead the nation mover forward! The DPJ, LDP were too clumsy just dont work!

Now that Ozawa has made his move, all eyes should now be on Hatoyama and his group (which is not small) as to what they would want to do if and when Ozawa's new Ozawa party submits the non-confidence motion to the lower house. Should they go along, it may put and end to Noda, and his bill. Hatoyama, whether people like it or not, makes his comeback to the main political stage, but merely because of the behind-the-scenes tug-of-war between Noda and Ozawa.

tmarie,

What did he do - run away as far as possible and lock himself up in his B1 bunker waiting for the nuclear cloud to pass over?
