By the time the LDP changes the constitution is changed (they've been trying for more than 6 years) we might all be vaccinated.

Never let a good crisis go to waste!

Defiantly do not trust the LDP, certainly any changes will mirror their warped sense of reality. It’s not just Article 9 they want to change, but a legal reduction in people’s rights to make their rule easier. More profitable.

Glad to see that the government has their priorities in order. It's not like there's anything else going on at the moment.

effective anti-coronavirus measures such as lockdowns aren't possible without an emergency clause in the charter providing enforcement and the limiting of private rights.

BS there is a quarantine law .

Maybe, just maybe, the LDP should focus on the current pandemic and the economy. Maybe, just maybe, the LDP 'thinks' it is a opportunity to slip thru a constitutional change while a disease burns thru the population.

Seriously, what do these guys do all day in the office? They should make a tv show, follow a few of these guys around all day. See what they actually do. (Pending, it’s not staged for the camera.). That may be the highest rated comedy of all time!

From behind the curtain of power - Abe's long shadow.

Japan's governing party is renewing its push for its long-cherished goal of revising the country's pacifist constitution, saying effective anti-coronavirus measures such as lockdowns aren't possible without an emergency clause in the charter providing enforcement and the limiting of private rights.

seriously? that's their latest excuse?

They already have the clout to squash any talk about a two page advertisement and they want more power?

LDP is not a governing party. LDP is a Ruling Party. The LDP pays no heed to 'the will of the people' or the intent of democracy.

Counting down the days before Botchan is miraculously cured of whatever he was supposed to have suffered from and appears on stage again as soon as the pandemic is over.

unbelievable they’re pushing the nationalist bent still, while saying they have no power to change things and legislate a hard lockdown. Cowards.
