The world's second- and third-largest economies have a fraught relationship, complicated by longstanding maritime disputes and Japan's wartime legacy.

I am sure people like Joshua Wong, Ivan Lam, Nathan Law, Jimmy Sham, etc. can testify on why the world should take a stance on China apart of maritime disputes. However, I am fine with receiving Xi. Bad relations lead to nothing but misinformation and prejudices.

Politically Xi can't really be leaving China until this WuFlu is contained. And Abe or any other national leader can't be inviting the leader of China at this time without a big fallout. One thing is for sure though, Trump wouldn't shake hands with him now.
