Well, with these two things about the increase in productivity, and the computers for schools, I really hope this passes. Even more so than before.

Only if you never watch TV and never read a newspaper. And perhaps never set foot outside.

The article mentions Typhoon Hagibis, and in fact last year Japan suffered typhoons, flooding and heatwaves that left many dead and caused widespread damage to buildings and infrastructure.

The country is still trying to deal with the 2011 earthquake & tsunami.

Another major earthquake - the Nankai Trough megaquake - is forecast to occur with 70% to 80% likelihood at some point in the next 30 years.

If you're in Japan and you have not 'been told about' these, I can only assume it must be wilful ...
