There is only so many times you can take your people being killed, assassinated and attacked with missiles before you must retaliate in some fashion. Israel has made it a common occurrence to attack neighbors when ever it had the inclination to do so and finally someone hits back. I am surprised it has not happened sooner to be honest.

I dont know what Japan can accomplish with either party, but better to try something than do nothing.

Payback was always going to happen! While I won't hold my breath, Israel may now think twice about attacking sovereign countries or embassies contained therein with impunity!

Israel will always defend itself and if they’re attacked again, they will respond in kind.

Iran’s ‘response’ was an abject failure… That said, all ‘sides’ in that part of the world are as guilty and as shameful as the other in terms of uncivilized behaviour and the disregard of human life, dignity, and basic decency… Israel, Iran, Lebanon, Syria, Iraq, Yemen, Saudi Arabia, and the list goes on and on and on… As nations, they are individually and collectively an absolute disgrace.

Not really. They gave a weeks notice of which target they were going to hit. The target was at least 2,500kms, The combined forces of Israel, the US, the UK, France and Jordan were on notice and yet they still managed to land at least 3 ballistic missiles on target. A target (air base from where Israel attacked the Iranian embassy) that was cleared of anything of value. Probably 90%+ of the missiles and drones were shot down, they were always going to be decoys to bother the defenses. They stated what they were going to hit and despite the best efforts of the combined military efforts were able to do exactly what they said they would.

Iran's response was a message, that message was we can hit anything, anywhere. Saudi oil fields, tankers, US bases.... Hopefully for the sake of the world economy the collective world will prevent the Israeli right from engaging in further acts of war.

Why wouldn't the world instead prevent Iran from attacking everything, everywhere, as you said?

Now,let’s see Japan apply pressure to Israel to prevent further escalation.

The strikes came after Israel bombed an Iranian consulate building in Damascus earlier this month, killing seven Iranian officers, including a top commander of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, Iran's armed forces.....................The Iran attack did not kill any one but was aimed at military bases...etc... May be Japan's governemt should protest what the Israeli's did when they Damascus...........But we know they will not.
